RE: Turntablism: The Evolution of the record player from a device for playing Music into an instrument

in #culture6 years ago

I remember one day in Barcelona's Apolo Club seeing Q-Bert hit play on a Mini Disc player showing what hip hop sounded like, then he hit stop and scratched it with his QFO Turntable. The same he did with almost every kind of electronic music. The climax was when he made D&B only by scratching a single record. The crowd never danced. We were completely astonished and thus paralyzed in bliss.

I suck at scratching lol.

Cheers

Do you know DJ Murphy from Brazil?. Also insane scratching skillz!. A very good friend of mine as well :) he plays techno and does turntablism on his sets. It's insane.

Gotta get my 1200's back from my parent's basement soon...
