🗞 Bitcoin Nears $3,750 as Top Cryptos See Moderate Gains

Saturday, Jan. 19 — all the top 20 cryptocurrencies are seeing slight to moderate gains in the 24 hours to press time. Bitcoin’s (BTC) price is nearing $3,750 again, according to Coin360 data.

At press time, Bitcoin is up about 2 percent on the day, trading at around $3,730. Looking at its weekly chart, the current price is higher than $3,663, the price at which Bitcoin started the week.

🗞 Wyoming Introduces a Bill Aiming to Define Virtual Currencies as Money

A bill meant to clarify the classification of cryptocurrencies has been introduced in the U.S. state of Wyoming Jan. 18, according to the official state legislature website.

The bill places crypto assets into three categories: digital consumer assets, digital securities and virtual currencies. The bill defines assets falling in any of those three categories as intangible personal property and grants virtual currencies the same treatment as fiat money.

🗞 Cumulative Volume on Huobi Derivative Market Exceeds $20 Billion

Huobi has announced that its cryptocurrency derivative platform, Huobi DM, has surpassed $20 billion in cumulative trading volume. The announcement comes just one month after the platform exited beta mode.

🗞 Lightning Network Co-Creator Is Designing a Scaling Solution Called Utreexo

A blockchain researcher has been working on a scaling effort for the unspent transaction output set found in the Bitcoin protocol. According to Tadge Dryja’s recently published description of research, the software engineer is working on a dynamic accumulator called Utreexo. The project could theoretically allow network participants to verify the state of the chain’s consensus rules with smaller sets of cryptographic proof.

🗞 Beacon Chain To Finalize Ethereum 1.0 Chain

On Friday's core devs call, Danny Ryan and Vitalik Buterin discussed the tentative plan to use the proof-of-stake, Casper FFG-implemented beacon chain as a finality gadget for the existing proof-of-work (PoW) chain.

Buterin explained that using the beacon chain for finality on the Ethereum 1.0 chain "would essentially give [the PoW chain] the same security properties that the original pre-beacon chain Hybrid Casper FFG was going to give."

Today we continued the UP and broke the next resistance line around 0.39$. We had a pull back on that same line and we did a bounce after a touch on it. So yeah all this is still very bullish on the STEEM. As I was explaining yesterday, I'm expecting a little correction soon but let's hope this correction will be very limited.
