Navigating your reality (Being emotionally ready for a crypto crash Part 2)

This is a continuation of my last post. I encourage you to read that first.

I intentionally separated the two because this post will deal with something more ethereal in nature, there is no proof-of-anything here, so you have to trust in your own intuition to guide you.

A lot of people subscribe to the concept of the “Law of Attraction”. I don’t like to label my “beliefs” or box myself into certain philosophies, religions, or theories as most of what I speak comes directly from my own experiences. Everything can always be understood on different levels and in layers but there are a few who talk about the Law of Attraction who sound almost spot on to me. The popularized version of the Law of Attraction is a little different though and if you are really big on this version of the Law of Attraction, you may not have appreciated my last post. By asking you to imagine losing everything, aren’t I just inviting that situation to come to pass?

A common misconception about the “Law of Attraction”

We do create our own realities, I have experienced this to such a degree that I can’t deny it. Whether you choose to believe that in a way that is easily explained by science or in a way that requires faith is up to you.

Still there is one common misconception about this idea that seems to be quite prevalent among readers of “The Secret” and certain New Age circles. It goes something like this:

“Only Think Positive Thoughts”

The idea goes that since you attract what you think and feel, you should try to rid yourself of all negativity by force. Force the bad thoughts out of your head, force yourself to be happy and the universe will conspire to make things work for you. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

That is not how it works.

Emotions need to be processed before they are released just like food. You can ignore them all you want, and while it may make a difference, they’ll still be there. Life will respond to what is in your heart....all of what is in your heart. If fear is in there it will respond to that fear, whether or not you choose to acknowledge it. You can think as many happy thoughts as you want, but if you can’t imagine the worst case scenario without being totally fine, you are still carrying that worst case scenario with you.

Fear doesn’t go away just because you want it to go away. You can’t FORCE yourself to be happy. Focusing on what makes you happy IS an extremely useful practice. Developing a habit of thinking positively IS going to work in your benefit, and it’s always better than dwelling on the negative. It does NOT, however, address the issue of the residue of fear and pain that may reside within you. At some point you need to accept and acknowledge whatever emotions may reside, otherwise you can never truly let them go.

One step at a time

The first step is to get positive, and be able to maintain your state of being when things are going well.

The next step is to practice maintaining that state of being when things are not so well. Treat all that you define as negative as an invitation to level up.

After that, if you really want to master your experience, you can start to “attack” fear before it has a chance to attack you. That is the purpose of imagining the worst-case-scenario.

Clean up the mess

After you’ve slayed your demons, don’t just sit there and let them rot around you. Sitting contently in a pile of crap might be “Zen” but it sucks. If you can be OK with it, wonderful, but you don’t need to stay there. Identify the crap as crap. Be clear with yourself and with your subconscious (and when necessary, with others) that this is something undesirable. Be clear about what IS desirable. It’s at this stage, when you no longer come at things with fear in your heart, that positive thoughts and affirmations can make really start to work magic.

Now let’s make the market green again ;-)
