All It Takes Is One App, Service Or Site For Crypto To Go Mainstream

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

Thought experiment. Let's pretend that Netflix has a coin attached to it. Not a new Netflix like service but the service right now. It has a coin that it gives out to its users. Lets say every hour of content you watch you get a coin. You get access to bonus material if you hold a coin and will go with proof of stake so it is valuable to hold on to the coin. If this was the case there would be 100 millions of people who knew about crypto. Not just those who have Netflix but those who watch it at a friend's house or heard about from people they know. At this point crypto would be mainstream.

That is all that it takes. One app that gives out crypto that everyone is using and now everyone is in the crpyto world. People can learn about crypto and other coins after but they will all have some first hand experience with it. We all this is going to happen in the gaming industry. There will be a game that will blow up with a coin and it will transform the industry. The same for social media.

I do not know if it will be this year or the next. Even big apps take time to grow. Maybe it will be steemit. But at this rate, when one site comes into the mainstream it will bring the coin with it and it will make a big change in the tech industry.

What do you think that app will be?

Great points using Netflix there. There are services such as Sola that give out their crypto to users just for using it (daily login bonus).

I think the reason that something like Steemit has not taken "off" into the mainstream is because it is quite a bit different than other mainstream social media sites.

There is no instant messenger option here. There is no real simply "status update" option - shorter posts tend to not do well with earnings or interaction with other users. Steemit is also structured more like a bulletin board than "social media" site with the categories and such. There is no capability to let users create groups to interact with like minded people either.

These are just a few things that people want in their social media services. Groups may be a dying thing but it is still immensely popular on the services that offer it.

I personally prefer the way Steemit handles social media. I am also someone that still actively uses several bulletin board forums across the web. The problem is, social media has advanced beyond forums.

To go mainstream, we literally need a rip-off of the big boys mixed with crypto. The problem with it is, that stuff takes time and effort to create. The rewards are immense for those that do it first though.

Hey buddy it's been awhile, how are things?

Agreed, I think with communities we will get one step closer. It is a matter of time for one company.

I have been doing alright. Been busy as all get out but still doing my best to make sure Steemit is in my regular rotation. How have you been?

Definitely, the bricks are laid everywhere right now, it will take the right company to see them and figure out how to put them together to create an awesome foundation for a future decentralized social media platform. Will it look more like Twitter? More like Facebook? Who knows, it could look totally different than anything we yet know and still be ground breaking.

The idea of a game giving out crypto currencies sounds really nice. So say for example the good sales I make of a particular player in my FIFA career mode would then become some sort of coin for me.
So cool

Will be a very cool application, will have a very big future ,,, Thank you Share this beautiful article ، good luck my dear friend @whatageek 👍👍😃😉

From what I've seen of Steemit and the Steem blockchain, I hope this is the platform that makes it to the top - I'd like to believe it has what it takes. The difficult part is translating the complex crypto-babble required to understand its inner workings and benefits to the standard Facebook, Twitter, or Reddit user. There's a difficult gap there.
