On June 27 the CEO and co-founder of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency powered charity called Givecrypto.org. Armstrong says he’s always believed in the power of cryptocurrency funded philanthropy and explains the new nonprofit is all about empowering, educating, and elevating global communities.

🗞 Decentralizing Popular Dapps Isn't Just a Scaling Problem

It's no secret that building large-scale, fully decentralized applications is a challenge, but it turns out the hurdles have to do with more than just scaling.

Decentralized application or "dapp" developers frequently hit roadblocks, since ethereum – the go-to platform so far in dapps' short history – can process only around 25 transactions per second, and the more transactions the network is asked to handle, the more each one costs the user. These limitations on transaction throughput are commonly referred to as "scaling" limitations, and everyone from the casual dapp user to ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin is keenly aware of them.

🗞 Apple’s Steve Wozniak Calls Blockchain a ‘Bubble,’ Thinks Bitcoin Is Still ‘Just Amazing’

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak believes that blockchain is a bubble similar to that of the dotcom era, but that it could have potential in the future, CNBC reported yesterday, June 26.

🗞 What Is Constellation Cryptocurrency?

As things currently stand, most of the big blockchain players such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are subject to a variety of systemic limitations which hamper mass adoption. One such issue is their scalability, which is poor primarily due to the consensus mechanisms they employ. In addition to this, currencies such as BTC make use of an underlying smart contract architecture that cannot be deployed for consumer grade applications.

🗞 EOS CTO Proposes Rehauling Constitution as Disputes Over Governance Continue

Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of blockchain protocol EOS Dan Larimer has proposed rehauling the project’s existing constitution to limit so-called arbitrators’ powers, in an EOSGov Telegram chat today, June 27.

Larimer’s proposal comes in response to recent controversies surrounding the structure of governance on the EOS blockchain, in which three distinct groups work to ‘keep one another in check,’ as defined by the project’s current constitution.

🗞 Huobi Exchange Suspends Services for Japanese Residents

Crypto exchange Huobi notified its Japanese customers via e-mail on Wednesday that it will be closing accounts of users who are residents of Japan. According to Huobi, their decision came up as a result of compliance issues with the Japanese law.

The STEEM is still waiting a direction... exactly like the BTC. We are still in a bear trend till we are able to break the resistance line at 1.50$ which could create a short term bounce. Without a breal of this line, I'm still afraid that we will go test the support line at 1$ quiet soon.
