🗞 Don’t Believe the FUD: Ethereum Can Scale

Over the past few months, we have noticed a significant number of articles proclaiming the imminent failure and collapse of the ethereum platform due to its inability to scale and its overall lack of user traction. This is hardly a surprise; with many new emerging technologies, we see a similar hype cycle. In Gartner’s famous model, the “Peak of Inflated Expectations” is followed rapidly by the “Trough of Disillusionment.”

In the case of ethereum, we have passed the former and are well on our way through the latter.

🗞 Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Still Believes Bitcoin Will Be Internet’s Currency

Co-founder and CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey declared again that he believes Bitcoin (BTC) will be the internet’s native currency. Dorsey made his comments during an interview with American comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan published on Feb. 2.

During the interview, Dorsey stated:

“[Bitcoin] was something that was born on the internet, that was developed on the internet, that was tested on the internet…It is of the internet.”

The Twitter CEO had made a similar claim before, noting in mid-May 2018 that he sees Bitcoin as a choice for the internet’s native currency.

🗞 The Crypto-Surveillance Capitalism Connection

Don’t look now, but there’s an elephant in the room. Scratch that. It’s an entire herd of elephants.

While Crypto Twitter bickers and fights, leaving competing coin projects and blockchain startups to defend each others’ counter-allegations of centralizing misdeeds, the real centralizing power-mongers of our digital economy have been pillaging our data and reshaping humanity into an instrument of their domination.

That’s the alarming, bold conclusion of “The Age of Surveillance Capitalism: The Fight for a Human Future at the New Frontier of Power,” the recently released mega-tome by Harvard Business School professor Shoshana Zuboff.

🗞 SEC Solicits Blockchain Analysis Tool to Identify Wallet Owners

While U.S. investors are waiting for a bitcoin ETF to be approved, American financial regulators are looking to make the market more transparent. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking a service that will identify the owners of wallet addresses for multiple cryptocurrencies.

🗞 Blockchain Basics For Business Leaders

CEOs are getting the news: Blockchain technology is big. "Everyone is talking about blockchain, and no one wants to be left behind," says PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in its summary of findings from its 2018 Global Blockchain survey. PwC heard from 600 executives in 15 territories and found that 84 percent say their organizations have at least some involvement with blockchain technology.

To begin with, people need to recognize that blockchains will come in many shapes and sizes, says Kugel.

"There will be blockchains that track assets, trading blockchains that facilitate asset exchanges, and those that serve as data interchange hubs between computing systems. Some will perform one, two, or all three of these functions. They will share some limited, albeit crucial, characteristics – chiefly encryption, record immutability or a protocol for 'forgetting' the transaction, multiple mirrored nodes, and functional persistence – but they won't all be the same."

Yesterday, I was saying you that we should have a test of the resistance line very soon and it has been the case today. We tested the resistance line at 0.31$ but we failed to break it. Let's hope we will consolidate just under that line and try to break it again in the coming hours.
