🗞 The Race Is On to Replace Ethereum’s Most Centralized Layer

“If we don’t stop relying on Infura, the vision of ethereum failed.”

That’s how Afri Schoedon, release manager for the Parity Ethereum client, described one of ethereum’s most popular – and controversial – technologies on Twitter in October.

Infura handles around 13 billion code request per day and provides a way for developers to connect to ethereum without having to run a full node. And while the exact usage stats aren’t public, by creating a simpler method for interfacing with the network, it’s said to underpin the majority of decentralized applications in the ethereum ecosystem.

🗞 Binance Releases 2nd Decentralized Exchange Preview After Binance Chain News

The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance revealed a second preview of its forthcoming decentralized exchange (DEX) in a video Dec. 4.

Binance, which regularly tops global charts for the largest volume of cryptocurrency traded daily, released an initial sneak peak in August.

The project is part of the wider Binance Chain initiative, through which executives plan to support “millions” of crypto assets.

🗞 7 Southern EU Nations Unite to Take Lead on Blockchain Adoption

Seven EU member nations have come together to promote the use of blockchain tech to boost government services and economic well-being.

The southern European states – France, Italy, Spain, Malta, Cyprus, Portugal and Spain – signed a joint declaration on Tuesday to promote the adoption of blockchain in the region in order to “transform” their economies. They further committed to collaborating on development of the technology in order to become “a leading region in this sector.”

The internet was born from an ideal for information to be shared by all, with all, and was seen as the archetypal decentralized system. Today, however, commercialization by monopolistic and powerful actors has created a system in which we are shown information paid for by the highest bidders, and can only access what the wealthy and powerful permit. Giant tech companies, big businesses, and even governments now act as sentries who not only control what we can do, but have unprecedented capabilities to watch us do it.

Pompliano Praises Bitcoin Performance, Antonopoulos Says Death Spiral ‘Unlikely’

In today’s Chatter Report, we explore the different ways crypto influencers have been responding to the low prices of 2018. Some are unfazed like Anthony Pompliano, who still believes that bitcoin is the best performing asset. Others are reassuring like Andreas Antonopoulos, who has been busy addressing concerns about bitcoin being in a death spiral. So we can see clearly that we are moving inside a trading canal since several days now and we are testing the low of it. That low correspond to the last low of the STEEM so it is important that we don't break that line if we don't want make new lows on the STEEM. Let' s see if the master will force us to break that support line or if we will try to have a break out in the direction of the UP.
