The other day, I made a post about CB Blockchain Conference San Francisco a now this. This is good stuff. We need more of these types of gatherings to promote the technology and its potential to improve how we do things.

I get very excited when I see these kinds of gatherings especially the A-list speakers that are willing to spend a good amount of their time educating people about the technology.

I have not seen such interest in the blockchain technology in 2017 and prior years. I can't emphasize enough how good these conferences are in the mainstream adoption of the technology.

I just arrived home from a networking event attended by about 20 or so people, most of them are not aware of what blockchain is and 3 or 4 people have heard of it but expressed negative sentiments about it. The networking event is a good barometer for how far blockchain technology has invaded the hearts and minds of ordinary people. Sad to say though, people are still not aware of the disruptive potential of the technology.

The negative reaction from the people that I talked to was not surprising. In fact, its consistent with my analysis - Bitcoin & Blockchain's Road to Mainstream Adoption. People need to see, feel smell, taste, and experience for themselves the value and benefit of using the technology for them to support and appreciate it.

Last week, I attended a Start-Up event where investors and entrepreneurs gather to share their knowledge and networks. At the event, 3 speakers were invited to present their startup companies. One of them was a company that was founded by their engineers who availed of the early retirement offer by their employers to pursue their passion of becoming entrepreneurs. Their company is into the buying and selling different types of machineries. What peculiar about their business model is that they use blockchain to eliminated the middlemen and at the same time provide more data to both buyers and sellers about the machine. Pardon me as I did not absorb very well their business plan in terms of how will they generate sales, how can they make money etc. but the point is, more and more entrepreneurs are believing in the power of the blockchain to change our lives.

We know that the technology is still in its infancy and it's still a long way to mainstream adoption. We will get there soon and it's very important to realize that now is the right time to get into the blockchain and make a handsome profit in the long run. A profit that could help many ordinary men and women retire early and enjoy life to the fullest.
