This is the type of news that makes you realize blockchain and crypto are here to stay.

A little-known company focused on the underlying technology behind cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin has purchased a huge chunk of land at a Northern Nevada industrial park. Bitcoinのようなcryptocurrenciesの背後にある基盤技術に焦点を当てた知られていない会社は、北ネバダ工業団地に大規模な土地を購入しています。

Let that sink in, 67,125 acres for a cool $158,741,898! Just for the land! They then have to put up buildings on the land which will cost several million more. Although, until that is done they will use an existing facility nearby. Then they have to stock the building(s) with equipment and personnel. This is looking be one of the largest crypto ventures in the US.

But who is behind this massive undertaking? According to the article it is a business called Blockchains, LLC .

Blockchains, LLC was registered in Nevada in May 2017 by California attorney Jeffrey Berns, a partner at the law firm of Berns Weiss LLP. I did some research to see how deep this rabbit hole goes. Let's start with the owner of Blockchains, LLC, which as shown above is Jeffrey Berns of Berns Weiss, LLC. Berns Weiss, LLP is a law firm out of Canoga Park, California that specializes in class action lawsuits and virtual currency, of which Jeffrey Berns is the managing partner. Their public crypto activity seems to have started around 7/5/2016 with this post "Understanding Ethereum and the DAO Conundrum" written by  Jeffrey K. Berns.

This led me to another partner in the firm who works with their virtual currency & blockchain practice group, David C. Berns. It seems David is the driver behind the crypto arm of the firm. In fact when we dig a bit deeper we find Berns, Inc. of which David is the COO & CFO. This is the core of their blockchain business.

From Berns, Inc. we learn that they have a software development arm and a media arm, ETHnews. I couldn't find any actual software they have released yet, but the ETHnews site is a full blown resource and one I may use, or at least follow on Twitter. They actually have good articles about all cryptos and links to important, Ethereum related news.

So back to the massive purchase they made. What are they going to do with so much space?? I would immediately think of mining, but they are heavily focused on Ethereum which is planning on moving from POW to POS. This will still require nodes though. Maybe it will be a mining/node farm? Hosting? One thing's for sure, it's going to big a big operation.

Some additional information, last year Nevada became a crypto friendly state banning blockchain taxes and licenses. Nevada also has lots of sun. Could they be gearing up to set up solar farm to run things? The business park they are moving to has several other high tech business including Google, Switch & Tesla.

In closing, I wouldn't be surprised if Blockchain, LLC's neighbor, Tesla and Elon Musk, are involved in this. Elon is a genius who co-founded PayPal so he definitely understands crypto and it's implications. He has been publicly involved with many globally changing initiatives, solar, space, transportation, so it seems something as important as crypto should also be on that list. My guess is there are other investors in the group we don't know about, but will soon find out about.
