The richest of the 'crypto-world', according to Forbes
Investing.com - Despite the recent concern for investors who are losing money with cryptocurrencies, some have amassed huge fortunes with digital currency.
Now we know who are the 20 richest in this market, thanks to the first ranking by Forbes magazine.
Just 350 million dollars are needed to be part of the list, which includes business pioneers, investors and technology experts.
Number 1 is Chris Larsen, co-founder and former CEO of Ripple, the third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. It owns 5.200 million units of the Ripple XRP token. His fortune is estimated between 7,500 and 8,000 million dollars.
Joseph Lubin is in second place. The co-founder of ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency in market value, has assets of between 1,000 and 5,000 million dollars.
Next up is Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, with a fortune of 1,100 to 2,000 million dollars. CZ opened Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange platform.
In the fourth place are the Winklevoss brothers, Tyler and Cameron, with between 900 and 1,000 million dollars, thanks to their early investment in bitcoin.
In the fifth position of the list is the investor Matthew Mellon, who bought Ripple's XRP token from the beginning.
