This week in r/Cryptocurrency Week 1

Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to "This week in r/Cryptocurrency" where we talk about the newest trends and drama happening in a subreddit near you!

For the first scandal we visit the "Daily Discussion Thread". An infamous moderator has been seen having fun. Over the span of a few days, in which not even an action movie could keep up with the tension, the moderator in question dared to make everyone’s life a little less shitty and changed the name of the "Daily Discussion Thread".

Such names include:

“Daily Discussion™ - Satoshi's True Vision®"

“Daily Discussion Sminem vs Bogs $4k Edition"

“Daily Discussion (Lost Doge Shelter)"

“Daily Discussion now partnered with BMW*"

In an act to further incite the mob, the moderator showed his even bigger evil with this title (my hands are literally shaking from pure rage):

“Daily Discussion (Article 13 Compliant)"

This name is a nod to the “Article 13”, which was an effort of the EU to tackle copyright issues, even though it is widely misunderstood to be targeting memes, making it clear that he has been using memes. MEMES.

Redditors are outraged, demanding the end of the moderator’s regime. In a scream for revolution, nothing has been done. Activity of the perpetrator has seized for one day although new sightings of fun have just been reported today. We will keep you updated on the further situation.

Next, we have news about a specific coin, XRP to be precise. As you could have thought yourself, XRP and this subreddit don't mix so well, here stems the drama. In exciting news for the coin, Coinbase finally listed XRP on both the main page and their Pro version. Learn here why this is really bad news.

"This just means that Ripple bought their way in, last I've heard they paid Coinbase 1 billion in assets" a brave user reports on scene after having done research for years.

This comment was unfortunately deleted at a score of -49 after a Ripple employee posted a tweet denying any of this action.

Fortunately, even braver Redditors came forth with even more research and sources, stating “Fake news” and “They be lying”, completely invalidating Miguel’s statement. This kind of dedicated investors helps us seeding the grain from the dirt, thank you for your work.

Last but not least, Ethereum’s network upgrade “Constantinople & St. Petersburg.” As usual, good news is made into bad news and bad news is good news. Instead of being happy for another coin and admiring the progress cryptocurrencies as a whole make, users try to diminish each other coin’s accomplishments. A particular intelligent user known for his insightful contributions to the community posted a few minutes before the update “2 minutes until ETH implodes?!?”. Others posted remarks like “Dump eet” and “Now the dumpening begins.” Just as usual, the opposite of the subreddits predictions happens and the coin has been pumped at the time of writing.

This was "This week in r/Cryptocurrency". Thanks for tuning in!
