👛 What Cryptocurrency are You HODLing in your portfolio? -💡 Share what you're invested in, read what others are invested in! 💡

It's always interesting to see what other people are putting their bets on! I love reading about which Cryptocurrencies other people think are going to do well, and it's always amazing to see so much diversity and opinions. Some people love privacy coins, others go crazy over sports related projects. I, of course, also have my own preferences.

I consider myself an intermediary cryptocurrency investor, having been in crypto since 2013/2014, and I generally do my research. I'm nowhere near an expert, though, and when it comes to technical analysis others are far better than I am. I do feel very confident about my portfolio, which I'd love to share and get your input on!

I am currently invested in:

  • 40% NEO
  • 20% OMG
  • 20% STRAT
  • 10% ETH
  • The rest is spread out between IOTA, BTC, LBRY, BAT, STEEM, Bitcoin Cash, Siacoin, Golem, EOS and my tiny bit of collected GAS, in that order

I feel NEO, OMG and ETH are my picks for in the short term, all offering a chance of doubling. I expect some upwards price movement before the end of the year for sure. Stratis I have very high hopes for in the short to medium term, and expect much more than just double. The rest I have mainly because they're all good projects and I just wanted to have some of all of them! It's gotten to be a sort of collection-hobby too, I suppose! I generally don't daytrade, but am a big believer in HODLing. The goal is to grow faster than Bitcoin, in order to acquire more Bitcoin.

And of course, the whole point of this post for me is to hear what cryptocurrencies you are invested in! Did you pick some of the same ones as I did? Do you put all your bets on one horse, or are you diversified?Or are you still waiting for the right price and time to buy? Which ones are YOU expecting to moon? 🌙

Please share your portfolio's, and your excitement and reasons for choosing them!

In my most recent update I shared the long-term segment of my portfolio. It looks like this:
Cryptocurrency Distribution on 19-08-2017 pie chart.PNG

Whoa! That's a super professional pie chart for your portfolio, I like it!
Monero, I wish I had gotten a while ago ! I'm interested in knowing your reasons for such a large amount of Waves? I have to admit I don't know all that much about the platform, other than that it's a way to give out tokens (ICO's?). I never really understood why it has such great appeal! Please do educate me :)

Hahaha thanks :-P

I actually elaborate a bit more on why I think Waves is interesting in the comments below my last update: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptotem/my-strategic-cryptocurrency-portfolio-update-4-eight-long-term-crypto-investments

Maybe that gives you a bit more context :-)

Also, hey, another Dutchie! Ik zal je op mijn volglijst zetten! Volg je mij terug? Kunnen we elkaar supporten! :D

Yay, bedankt! :)
Bijna 500!

I'm holding some ETH, LTC, Lisk, Stratis, NEO, NEM(XEM), Bitshares, QTUM, Omi, STEEM, BAT, Golem & Gridcoin.

Pretty great choices and solid portfolio I think! It would be so interesting to make a list of all these portfolio's and keep track of them and see which combination ends up making the most money!

You sold your OMG?

I'm in BTC and have only deployed to TAAS. I'm very new to this market and just recently started deploying. I've been watching the market since May trying to figure things out. Only (snark) took me 5 months to figure this market out and i missed out on a lot (i'm looking at you NEO) but I'm in a better position to (think I) know what I'm doing than when I first started looking around. FOMO doesn't bother me much as there will ALWAYS be a new shiny hyped coin right around the corner. (Trust me on this)

I'm trying to find good entry points for VERT, PART, SHIFT (just got pumped and being manipulated before my eyes tonight - ugh. I had a buy order for about 1 cent below asking some whale made his move). Now I have to watch SHIFT to see what sort of action is going on there. I really want to HODL it rather than trade it.

On my watchlist: OMG, XVG, LISK, ARK. However at current MC levels none of those are particularly attractive to me. I'll just add them to the coins that I missed the boat on.

LBYC is a mystery to me. It could be big someday or be a big bust. I don't even know where to guess its MC over a long run. I guess i can throw some money it's way but i rather throw it in other places that I think have a better chance of running sooner.

So there you have it. Eventually i'll add SHIFT, PART and VERT ....but if I miss the boat again i'll just look around for the next thing.

And thanks to your post and someone else reply i'll sign up for GRT ha.

Excellent reply!! I added you to my follow list because of it!
I didn't sell my OMG yet, still hold about 20% OMG in my portfolio. I initially wanted to sell at $15 but there is so much excitement, I think FOMO is going to make me hang on to them longer.

And you are right there will be new shiny coins coming out. BUT... one thing I have noticed, is that the pool is being dilluted. Whereas it's easy to see Ethereum/NEO/Stratis as good contenders.. once those niches are filled, we're going to move into more and more obscure projects and it will be harder to pick the winners. I think right now is a pretty crucial time to benefit the most.

Wow - i must have been tired. I didn't see OMG in your original post. 20% OMG is a good level for long HODL.

I also want to mention that i'm trying to get some Blackmoon Crypto ICO coins (started today please use my referral link if this interests you: https://account.blackmooncrypto.com/?ref=A26198 ) and I was considering LAToken coin (ICO still in progress?) but I wasn't sure if LAToken will be adopted at the speed they are estimating. LAToken hopes to get people to tokenize assets. I'm not sure exactly how the magic works exactly works so I decided to wait to see how the platform will be used and miss out on the ICO bonuses. However both of those are worth a look. Thanks for following! I enjoy your posts and insights in this market.

As you can tell from my name I'm holding NEO. 😀 I also have some ETH that I'm going to be turning into some Steem very soon.

Yes, NEO! :D
Selling ETH now, with all the new things coming up this fall? I personally got into ETH a short while ago because it looked like it was going to set new highs. Unfortunately that is when China crashed the markets, so we tumbled down. But I still think it's going places this fall. STEEM is awesome of course, but I have not seen much price action and am not sure if there is news upcoming that will make the price go up significantly. It all depends on the userbase growing
Thanks for your reply!!

I am still BTC, LTC, ETH with Steem and GRT pulling up the rear.

I am thinking of adding more...have to decide whether to add to my core positions or to delve into something else.

NEO certainly seems like an interesting coin.

@originalworks

GRT? Interesting choice! I have not heard of this one yet, I will need to do some research! Why did you pick this one in particular over other choices?

Generally it is advised to diversify, and I can attest to that. Now when NEO, my main holding, goes down I can still feel okay because other crypto's will be up. Even during bad days, there will be some that are doing okay, and they still make me feel like I am winning in some way. If you put everything in one place, and it goes down, it becomes so much more stressful and you are easily tempted to sell (at a loss) where you should have held. Diversifying avoids this.. when something goes down, it's only part of the whole picture. Good luck!

I dont feel bad on down days since I am looking to add some more so they work to my advantage. Also, with it as a long term hodl, I dont fret about minor fluctuations (in this arena, minor is 20% lol).

As for GRT, it is being changed to Manna. This is a coin that is designed to be a universal basic income. They are going to provide it to everyone. They worked on the tech side of things the past year, now are going through a revamp which includes a crowdfunding campaign. Since I believe in UBI due to technological job displacement (coming down the road), I bought into this idea. The fact that they will be giving coins away on a monthly basis to anyone who signs up excites me. It is a way to attack poverty.

The next couple months will be exciting for it...I will try to keep you abreast as I learn anything new.

Interesting.. I will definitely be looking into this! After your explanation some bells do go off.. I think I may have encountered this before after all.
Giving coins away for signing up sounds fine to me though! I can always use more crypto ! I'll be sure to research it later. Thanks for the tip!

It is presently frozen...the wallet system they were using is being scrapped. They are setting up an entirely new platform which will also contain the wallets.

I am hoping they start distributing again in Nov....we shall see. Trying to get a hold of the new white paper.

Did you ever hear about DeepOnion? it's a cryptocurrency based around the TOR network/technology. It is also freely distributed, but there are a few rules in order to apply (have to be active on bitcointalk, for one). Here is the thread on bitcointalk.
The project has a fair amount of merit and some people see a lot of potential. I, sadly, do not qualify for airdrops yet but will be working on it.

I will give it a gander.

Lots of viable options out there. While I dont mind buying into coins, I have limited capital. Hence I like the legit ways to earn coins like Steemit. While it is slow coming, at least I am getting something for my efforts. Playing games online to earn a bit of BTC while watching a thousand ads doesnt interest me.

I am in the same boat as you are! Although I am quite obsessed with crypto, I am not a wealthy investor by any means! I too am hard at work trying to earn crypto, since I can't spend more fiat on it for a while! Steemit is the best way so far that I have found. I can't wait for the Brave browser and Basic Attention Tokens to start paying out though!

A few months ago I bought $50 worth of Golem, Ardor, Ripple and Stratis. They're all at a loss right now, but I'm okay with that. I'm certain some or all will eventually rise enough for me to make a little profit. I have patience.

Thanks for your response!
Yes, many of those projects are indeed long term ones that you shouldn't sell at a loss in the short term! Hodl on and be strong, the spirit of Satoshi will reward you!

Thanks for your % breakdown on your crypto positions - very helpful @pandorasbox !

I am just getting back into crypto and have my holdings almost about equal in:

-BTC
-ETH
-LTC
-STEEM

I'd like to get into NEO and IOTA soon as well.

What do you think of Bitconnect? I will check out your channel and sub as well :)

Thanks!

Thanks for replying and telling us your portfolio @kriscantu! And thanks for checking out my feed, I'll give you a follow as well!!

Nothing wrong with your picks listed! Personally I stay as far away from Bitconnect as possible. Overall, the general opinion is that it is a scam of some kind and that one day the whole pyramid will come crashing down. So far it has not happened, but such is the nature of these schemes of course. I do know some people are making good money off of it, apparently. But I consider the risk to be too large, and the rewards seem unsustainably good. I'd say it's a very high risk game to play if you do decide to enter it!

I'm in BTC, Steem, and Stratis. These three are the money makers, I call it the Trinity.

Excellent choices! Now let's hope both Stratis and Steem get some action soon, as both have been lagging behind the rest!
