How To Make Money From Cryptos, Even If BTC/ETH Crash

Warning: this is NOT about “getting rich quick”!

Introduction

I’ve recently noticed a lot of talk about a “cryptocurrency bubble” and how to prepare for the coming crash.

Indeed, a lot of people who I’d consider ‘crypto-experts’ have told me that they are preparing for a crash in cryptocurrency prices. I have done the same by liquidating my initial capital and re-allocating my portfolio (but that is another story).

A crash is coming, sooner or later, and it makes sense to position your portfolio to prepare for this. However, I think too many people see cryptocurrencies as a “get rich quick” investment scheme, and miss the bigger picture.

Isn’t This A Story About Making Money?

It is, and congratulations - you are at the RIGHT PLACE at the RIGHT TIME!

Have you ever bought cryptocurrency on an exchange? Do you own a hardware wallet?

If the answer to either of those questions is ‘yes’, then you know more than 99.99% of the population about blockchain technology/cryptocurrencies. I am not joking!

But What If I Am Not That Techy/I Can't Code?

Until last year, I was an internet-ignoramus. Nor can I code, unless you consider a cursory knowledge of HTML to be coding (hint: don’t say “HTML is coding” in front of your developer friends).

You probably also have a hobby, career, or interest in something that is not crypto-related. For example, I teach accounting and finance at university.

What about you? Do you know how to make sweet videos (no, not that kind!)? Are you good at online marketing? Do you write amazing copy? Are you an expert in your country’s tax laws?

BOOM - What an opportunity! You just have to take whatever you are already good at (in economics we’d call this your comparative advantage) and combine it with cryptocurrency and/or blockchain technology.

For example, I am an early-career academic. My specialism is accounting and finance… so no prizes for guessing what the core subject of my PhD and future post-doc research will be.

Here are a few more personal examples:

@marketingmonk has an online cryptocurrency school for noobs like me. At the time of writing, I am a supporter, but not (yet) an affiliate.

My detox coach has been investing in cryptos since last year. Soon he’ll be on Steemit. I look forward to seeing how he can use blockchain technology to reach more people.

Another one of my friends is a literary genius. I hope that one day he will serialise his sci-fi novels on Steemit. Who knows, maybe it’ll become a huge hit? One thing is certain, I don’t foresee him getting on Kindle when there is so much more opportunity for cotent creators in the crypto-space.

Staggering Opportunities

Find a way to provide value in a space where you are already an expert, or just have above-average knowledge/experience. Combine this with the crypto-economy.

For example, I am also an accountant, and even though I took my tax accounting exams 8 years ago, I am seriously considering swotting up on my tax knowledge to offer crypto-related tax advice. After all, how many tax accountants understand cryptos? How many crypto-enthusiasts understand tax? Right now, the competition is almost non-existent.

We all have part to play in the crypto-economy. The only thing holding you back is a lack of ideas.

The opportunities are staggering even if BTC crashes by 90% over the next year.
