Precisely. There have been quite a few folks from Indonesia, and SE Asia region coming to Steemit since its inception. The ability to move money for free and easy startup was a no brainer for them - or anyone for that matter, haha.

The Indonesians are a massive group of people that tend to work in hospitality and the leisure industries.
There are many millions more from the Indian sub-continent that work all over the middle east in construction for terrible pay and conditions. They have few options and then get hit with transfer fees...scandalous really.

It is a bad situation for those desiring to support their families back home.

The easier applications like Dash, and Steem become the faster wealth can be transferred from the working family member to those in need.
