TOR Coin
TOR network (the darkweb) does one thing really well, protecting the identity of its users. The users can be either good people who are fighting for a good cause or bad actors who want to exploit this privacy for wrong reasons. So far, the TOR nodes are run by volunteers and there is no real incentive for them to do so. There are also instances where the people running exit nodes are enquired by police or government officials because of their exposed IP address.
Why not Tor team come up with their own coin, lets say TOR Coin which incentivize the volunteers for their contribution to the network. By this way,
- They can attract many volunteers which will improve the speed and reliability of the whole Tor network. The network will grow as the coin gains more value.
- Tor coin can be generated/distributed based on the value addition provided by individual nodes to the network. This will encourage people to contribute more to earn more coins.
- Tor team can reserve a token pool which can then by utilized for technology or product development. No need to rely on donations to run the show.
