The token sale with no rights never bothered me much. I know it's there and it really is nothing to worry about. I read a comment the other day on a video that some companies are leaving ethereum and going to EOS. Do you know any companies that have actually did that or do you think that will happen? I've really been enjoying this mini series with Kyle, the funny little overlays you've put in during editing are a nice touch too! It's great to see EOS getting so much more attention now but also bad as it would be nice to have more time to accumulate.
The disclosures and disclaimers made are purely to avoid any regulatory grey areas to ensure the tokens are not classified as securities. Since the ICO was over $150m USD, there was virtually no way for the issue to be exempt from SEC filings in the United States which is why is was excluded. Great series!
Interesting take, and an interesting video. I'm endlessly interested in EOS and everything Dan Larimer is working on. It was nice to take a step back and hear the potential downfalls though.
No rights to anything, no obligations to provide anything... best think of the "investment" as a donation. If you get any rewards then think of it as a bonus :-) We're in this for the tech aren't we all??!??!? Right??!??!

I was very worried during my first assesment of EOS especially over this passage, as it looked so heavily like scam. But a scammer would rather unlikely make the effort and disclose his intentions especially (at least not early on)..... and it's clear a lot of the structure of EOS is made to avoid regulations. And still the success of the EOS blockchain depends effectively and heavily on the community, and it's much harder to get things organised this way, than if block.one would have provided the infrastructure and tools around eos as well. So certainly the path to mainnet launch will be bumpy, but it will be decentralised from the very beginnning. At least I'd hope so...
It did look scary the first I read it but I really believe in this project so was willing to take the risk. It is paying off so far.
