Horror Story! This Could Happen to You!

The Greatest Case for Crypto Currency, Bit Coin Save Us

   Payment Processors are Pure Poison

   Paypal

Roughly seven years ago we opened an online business accepting paypal, payza, and eventually credit cards.  Prepare yourself for what any online business owner would call pure horror.  Businesses like ours had been working with paypal for 20 years.  We had no suspicion of what was about to happen.  Our customers liked paypal and set up subscriptions with them.  After doing payment processing with them for five to six years they simply pulled the plug.  Of course we called in near panic.  The reason as to why they shut us off... it's now against terms of service.  What!!??  Now all the subscriptions set up, all the money people had in paypal was suddenly unreachable!

   Payza

This story is absolutely insane.  We carried over 3,000.00 in this account under no impression that some how these funds could be in jeopardy.  Suddenly, it was revealed that the payment processor payza used for United States citizens was no longer with them.  Okay, that's disappointing, simply give us our money then.  Nooooo, what the heck(profanity screened), somehow 3,000.00+ dollars are in limbo and there is no course of action to be able to extract this money.  But don't worry some remote justice department is working on our behalf where we may or may not see this money after years!

So after this robbery and being cornered into not having much for payment processing it was announced that payza was back open for United States customers.  Okay things were fine for say six months with them the second time around.  Then it's announced that they don't have the proper money transmitting license for their country.  Can you believe this?  Again the funds we held with them are trapped in limbo.

   Credit Card Acceptance, Authorize.net

Okay now we are going to accept credit cards directly.  Never mind that are customers don't trust this as much and we'll grossly do less sales.  Ready for this?  To participate in this you go under a contract to use it for x time.  Breaking it is very expensive.  Now each month you'll be charged 140.00 to simply accept credit cards.  What??!  Why can't you just take a small percentage of each transaction?  To top it off, every six months there is an additional charge for who the heck knows.

After All This What's the Solution?

The more crypto currency is used in accepting payments the better.  One of the huge concepts behind it is decentralization.  No single governing body or institution owns it.  Accepting crypto currency is a win!  Steem has a zero transaction cost!

How I Envision the Future and Wish We Had from the Beginning

Of course it's possible to accept payments with crypto currency already.  That's a huge step in the right direction.  But going further, not sure it's possible, I would like to see hard wallets(so called cold storage) be able to interface with a website to uphold subscriptions, hence automation.  Here we have the freedom of how to spend our money and we control it.  This is something that every man or woman deserves!  I'm not sure things can go that far and be secure, would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

I agree with most of what you said Marcus (and I have the same feeling about the above mentioned payment processors). What I don't think would be a good idea is an interface between cold storage wallets and anything online, because that would make them hot wallets, and their purpose defeated.

Well I really wanted to get rid of any middle guy any idea how to enable subscriptions with crypto keeping decentralization as much as possible?
