Cryptos will essentially take away power from both bankers and politicians. Separation of state and money. After all, that is the whole point of decentralization!!
So it really doesn't matter if you are left or right wing in the long term. The whole two-party system, along with just about every current socioeconomic paradigm, will most likely cease to exist and/or adjust around these new monetary instruments.
Cryptos will give birth to entirely new governance/political systems that, under ideal scenarios, will be free of graft and corruption!
The left prays on the poor, unions, and corruption... why the hell would they possibly want a tamper-proof currency?

Doesn't make any sense, the left is about envy on the rich and successful, wealth confiscation, government oppression and protection of crony monopolies. Cryptocurrencies are about liberty, wealth protection and free market competition, the complete opposite. These kids are actually libertarians at heart, they just don't know it yet. They'll grow out of it once reality and life kicks in.

I think you need to both talk to a Swede about their mythical socialist utopia spread by the msm and read The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek. All socialists are on the road to communism, it's a process to get there, not a switch you turn on and off. How do you think Cuba started? This is not about left or right, it's about the government vs the individual and the family. The good thing about crypto is that it will defund governments.and allow individuals to protect (and escape with) their wealth. I very much like that anyone can express their thoughts here on Steemit, I just think it's a lot of hypocresy for the leftists because their are using uber capitalist and libertarian products: the internet, computers and crypto. They should really use soviet made vacum tube mainframes if they really wanted to remain "pure". Though in reality, most "leftists" here are libertarians who don't know it yet. They were brainwashed by loser teachers in a mediocre and corrupt education system that leans left. People use what attracts them and what they think will benefit them. Why do you think the universal healthcare is such a popular idea? Because it appeals to people. It guarantees them benefit.

Wrong, leftists are statists, they are for more government, more taxes, corruption and coercion. That's exactly the opposite of crypto. They will fight crypto to protect the status quo. Leftists only care about government taking wealth by force in the hope they will share some of it but history proves they don't and these policies only bring poverty. Cryptos will be defended by libertarians and anarchocapitalists only

A real leftist does not like cryptocurrencies because they allow for the protection of the wealth they want confiscated by all mighty governments in the hope they will share it with them and not shoot them in concentration camps like it always happens with these idealistic youth (I'm from Cuba, I've seen it). Pretty naive if you ask me.

"allow for the protection of the wealth" Thats true only to some extend. What cryptos do is the wealth redistribution. From rich to clever and tech-saavy. Big bankers are yet to wake up and start buying up. Not even talking about the governments.
There is a fine gradient between left leaning and full blown communist.
I agree the main proponents right now are libertarians and anarchokapitalists, but I dont see why leftists (not commies) should not like it as well.

@louisthomas I completely understand why you would want to support cryptocurrency as it is a move towards decentralization of banking. You oppose the centralized corruption of the banking systems and want a more democratic system. That makes sense. However, I am curious...
Why have you chosen socialism as a philosophy? Socialism, being "governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods", is that not the centralization of economic power you didn't want?
Under our current system in the US, banks have had to acquire and wield that power behind the scenes, with indirect control. Under socialism, the government would wield that power absolutely and with direct control. Isn't that the opposite of what you want?

Great video. You've said what I've been saying for months now. The banks don't want a democratic financial system where you emare in control of your money. They want to hold your money in a centralized system. Thank God crypto has come to change this. Good job.

Louis, Please continue to write/vlog articles on topics like this where you combine crypto and politics, it is one of your strengths and I have watched most of your videos. The left, right, center (and orthogonal) can both benefit from decentralisation and I like the fact you are showing self awareness in your videos and providing balanced views. You can't please everyone and there are many others providing views including libertarian etc. but your commentary on the left is a sound voice in the crypto choir.
