Bitcoin: The Ultimate Hedge Against a Disastrous Brexit?
Even as an unapologetic leave voter myself, I'll be the first to admit that Brexit negotiations haven't been going too well so far, and that in the short-medium term leaving the EU might have a negative impact on the British economy.
That being said, with the advent of worldwide decentralised cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, this presents an opportunity for British Bitcoin HODLers to benefit if the value of Pound Sterling were to crash.
The pound has been doing well since the UK agreed on the "divorce bill" with the EU, but still a long climb to pre-Brexit levels.
@Louisthomas, I have an idea for you. With your popularity and audience you have an opportunity to run an experiment that others cannot which could help Steemit grow, hear me out.
What if you took future videos like this one, which touch on politics and risk demonetization on Youtube, and you post them both on Youtube and Steemit, and then track demonetization and earnings on those videos for each platform.
This would give you data to run a video series where you delve into your findings. I suspect the process would garner evidence that once packaged in your usual high quality way, would excite a lot of Youtubers who either: 1) have not heard of Steemit, or... 2) have heard of it but haven't tried it.
Certainly monetization is just one facet of Steemit's potential but in terms of incentivizing new comers to join, monetization is certainly an important consideration.
I really think such a series, done by you specifically, would garner a lot of attention from Youtubers not on Steemit, and perhaps growth for the Steemit platform.
I know I owe my involvement on Steemit to you, and I bet many more do, and hopefully many more to come, will as well.

In any capital market and in any trade, the ups and downs of the exchange rate of a currency or merchandise will affect other currencies, as well as bitcoin, it will continue to be dynamic and volatile, but I still believe the value of bitcoin will continue to increase, as its spread is increasingly widespread throughout the world.
