IS THIS THE NEXT 20X CRYPTOCURRENCY????

Everyone always wants to know the next coin or token that is going to make those coveted 10x-100x gains right? There are MANY coins and tokens with great projects, just waiting to be found. The reasons these projects often go unnoticed can be anything from lack of current marketing, to having a product that is not released for a few months after ICO. Once these projects get coverage by Youtube’rs and media, (if they are solid and or revolutionary) then they are off to the races. By that point, you have missed out on the maximum amount of gains. How do you find such coins? Research.

Luckily for you, I have researched countless hours and will write about these sleeping giants for you! (But always do your own research in addition. Everything written, said, etc, is not financial advice and just my opinion and my understanding of the current project and state)

Mercury Vision (GMT)(Global Messaging Token) – The Facts

Current price is about $0.02.

Total supply for GMT is 1 billion tokens. This is a great number in that it is not so large that it makes price growth difficult (compare total supply to EOS-$7.80!, LINK-$0.40, GNT-$0.40).

Circulating supply is currently 168,809,625 which allows for a potential faster rise in price. Market cap is currently at a humble $4,733,422 USD. At roughly $0.02, if GMT went to $0.40 (20x), it would still not even be in the top 100 list of cryptocurrencies on Coinmarketcap according to marketcap! (Ranked highest to lowest marketcap). This is not unreasonable growth to expect from this token in my opinion.

ATH was roughly $0.087.

Only trading on Etherdelta at the moment. This is actually a major bonus because that is why it has gone under the radar for the most part. When tokens get added to bigger exchanges, they usually go through large price increases very quickly.

GMT – The product/technology

Mercury Protocol (GMT) is in the messaging and phone communication space with regards to user privacy and protection. After looking into them, I realized that they are trying to solve a major pain point in the world of messaging today. How often do people refrain from sending important data in messages or texts, for fear of getting their information stolen? Very common problem. Imagine if there was a way to send a message without fear that someone (business, government, individuals) would see it or access it in some way?

As per the promo video for GMT, they state that current messaging apps are a third party “middle man” that often give your data or information to advertisers (icodrops.com). In the very least, if you are using a current messaging app, you can be confident that many people are able to view your content, including government, businesses, and individuals. Even texting is not particularly safe with regards to privacy and keeping your information safe. This is a major pain point with the current state of communication.

This is where GMT comes in. They are using blockchain technology to develop a safe way to communicate that is private and secure. They store user data in a different manner, which allows the user to permanently delete data that cannot be recovered or stolen. They are currently already integrated into common app called Dust. Through Mercury Protocol, the user will have the ability to send an encrypted message, across the blockchain, to its destination.

The user growth pool (large amount of tokens in the total supply that are not in circulation) will be used to reward users. Developers are also paid from this pool so that user data is not monetized. Which should result in greater privacy. Using Mercury Protocol in Dust, the user will also have the opportunity to deleted messages and make the unrecoverable. If Mercury Protocol makes a secure social network, based on the blockchain (as they are working towards), then it would change things for the better and give people greater security and peace of mind.

Dust is the messaging platform, which is already being tested. They are also integrating this technology into a social media platform called “Broadcast”, which aims to solve issues such as online harassment. The Mercury Protocol whitepaper states that “[i]n 2016, Facebook and Google collected 77% of American spending on digital marketing, and nearly half of all global spending [8]. This system not only consistently impacts user privacy, but also bears all the technical problems associated with centralized platforms, including “single point of failure” security and trust-based services (e.g. there is no method for unbiased verification that a private server actually sent your message, deleted a post, etc)” (p.1). GMT is based on the Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts will be used. Dust is already in the market and getting users.

Thoughts

GMT seems to be aiming to tackle a very large aspect of peoples lives… communication and social media. If they succeed, the result would change things for the better in my opinion. This token has a lot of room to grow for sure. 10x-20x gains might even be conservative at the current price. The current price is almost 50% below ICO price. The only questions in my mind are if they are going to get the notoriety in the cryptocurrency market that other projects have gotten. But if they have a product that gains massive popularity, then it will speak for itself, and that should show in the token price.

The website, video, and whitepaper all look clean and professional, which is a necessity. Otherwise I likely wouldn’t waste my time writing this article. One major downside of the project however is that they did not conduct their ICO in the most effective manner. They had the coin available on Etherdelta during the ICO, which led to arbitrage trading at times, and possible negative view towards the project. Fortune.com also states that billionaire Mark Cuban is backing the Mercury Protocol project, so that is a positive sign as well!

At the end of the day, readers need to decide what they think the future will be for GMT. More research may be required, but hopefully I have given some awareness to this potential undervalued token and given a good amount of content to assist in educating the public. GMT could go nowhere in price or even go down. But it also could go to the moon. Decide for yourself based on the data ;)
