1- The company behind Kakao, the most popular messaging app in South Korea, has suggested it will do a private placement next month to raise money for a crypto platform. The platform will be separate from the messaging app due to concerns over the lack of ICO regulations

2 - While regulators around the world have grappled with the issue of what category digital currencies and assets fall into, Thailand has skipped the debate altogether.Instead, using an emergency decree that came into effect earlier this year, authorities wrote an entirely new law.

Thailand’s regulations lay out rules for businesses that want to operate as an exchange, a broker, or a dealer. They also formalize a process for initial coin offerings that’s similar to the system for issuing debt or equity. Shock horror, you actually require a business plan, including audited financial statements.

3 - The FSC tightened existing cryptocurrency trading regulations on transactions and user monitoring. It also requested the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (KFIU) which is the national financial watchdog to oversee cryptocurrency transactions and user activity. Additionally, as part of its larger initiative of monitoring the local cryptocurrency exchange market, the FSC has also ordered the relevant authorities to investigate three large banks. These are Nonghyup, Hana Bank and Kookmin which have been providing banking services as well as virtual accounts to cryptocurrency exchanges.

4 - Cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain development platform Belfrics Group on Tuesday announced that it will resume trading operations on its Indian exchange by introducing four new cryptocurrency coins.

The platform has launched Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple and Litecoin across all its global exchanges in Malaysia, Singapore, Bahrain, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and India.

5 - Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the International Financial Centre in Abu Dhabi, has today launched its framework to regulate spot crypto asset activities, including those undertaken by exchanges, custodians and other intermediaries in ADGM. This follows the successful completion of a public consultation on the introduction of a robust crypto asset regulatory framework by ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) on 28 May 2018.
