If we are to continue with currencies in any form, backing them by rare things like gold is not working for me. I think the value of the currency should be derived from what we produce with our labours.

Of course if you have gold AND if currency is backed by gold, you are sitting pretty. If the value of a buck was what I put out to make it valueable
