Today on Word To The Wise, we take a look at a new cloud mining service for Bitcoin called Flashmining.

One of the enticements of Flashmining is they offer free 150 GH/s of hashing power just for signing up.

So of course I signed up. With the option to reinvest or withdraw my earning at only 0.0015 Bitcoin, I went to bed that night dreaming of my newfound wealth and trying to decide which I would do with my first earnings. Just before sleep overcame me, I decided that withdrawal would be the prudent choice.

Bright and early the next day, I sprang from my bed to check on my earnings at Flashmining. After only one day my earnings were already a sizable 0.00019 Bitcoin.

At this rate I would reach the minimum in less than eight days. So being a patient soul I diligently went about my daily tasks for the next five days before stopping in again at Flashmining to check on my earnings. Expecting to be only about a day away from reaching the minimum payout amount, I was only mildly disappointed to see that I was still less than half way to my goal after 6 days of mining.

Not to be dissuaded, I checked back again three days later and was happy to see that I had made sizable progress and was over two thirds of the way to the minimum withdrawal amount.

Exactly two weeks to the day after starting on this Bitcoin mining odyssey I once again logged onto Flashmining and was delighted to see that my balance had finally crossed the threshold.

Eagerly I selected the option to withdraw my earning and was shocked to find that I was required to make a deposit before I could withdraw my earnings.

Not to be deterred, I changed tactics and selected the option to reinvest my earnings into greater hashpower only to find that that avenue was also blocked.

So the sad truth is that Flashmining is just a scam. The offer for free hashpower was just a come on to lure unsuspecting souls to their doom. Do not try to buy hashpower from Flashmining, you will never see a payout from them.

The Report

The cryptocurrency recovery has stalled a bit today. Here's a look at how our favorite coins are performing.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $9018, down 4% since this time yesterday afternoon.

Steem on the other hand is moving higher after the welcome news that it started trading on the Huobi exchange today. Currently, Steem is trading at $3.74, up 8.3% in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile SBD is moving in the opposite direction and is currently trading at $3.25, down 6.8% since this time yesterday.

Currently on the Steemit Market, Steem is trading for 1.149 SBD as the price of Steem pulls well ahead of SBD.

The supply of liquid Steem continues to slowly increase. Since yesterday afternoon, the amount of liquid Steem increased by 80,000 Steem. Currently there are 76.99 million liquid Steem.
