An Introduction to Monero. (XMR)

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Monero is an open source Cryptocurrency focused towards Privacy and Anonymity.

After Hardforking from Bitcoin, It's been based on the CryptoNote, aswell as boasting untraceable and non-identifiable transaction providing a much more anonymous service than Bitcoin.

DarkNet users have a very strong fondness for Monero due to the recent AlphaBay bust. Monero was the only wallet to be impossible to hack by the Governments. The ETH and BTC wallet's were traced and seized.

Now, The main issue with Monero is its reputation.. Is all this privacy necessary? Up to you to decide for yourself.

Great info. Monero is one of the ones Ive targeted. Its good to know that it is safe. Would you say Monero is better for the storage of wealth or better for transactions ?

Much better for Transactions!

wow! I rarely see a post this short and still this precise and informative! All 4 thumbs up!

It's the secret to good Journalism!

Quality info. I've never really looked at Monero. This is a good intro. Appreciated 😃👍

Best sure to check it out! Great coin.

It's hard to tell where Monero is going. I was told it's backed by Google. Which is good, because they'll keep it stable. But if the US government ever cracks down on monopolies. The coin could take a dive. Let's be realistic. 90% of alt coin value is coming from a handful of companies, rich elites. Just keep that in mind. As time goes on I believe regular consumers will make up the majority.

I agree with what you are saying although, The beauty of Monero is that it will be very difficult to regulate. Exchanges even have difficulty tracking its own receives/sends
