Faucets - are they worth your time?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Over the last few weeks, I have been experimenting with different crypto-currency faucets. It has been interesting but hardly worth the time I spend on it unless I count the educational value of it.
After over 3 weeks of daily visits (most days way more than just one), I am still not even approaching $1 in earnings! That is not a lot of money for what must have been a total of several hours of clicking on faucet claim buttons and closing pop-up and pop-under windows full of advertisements.
After the first couple of days, I concluded that all the faucets that used a direct to wallet pay method had a pretty high minimum payout. This means that you have to visit the faucet every day for weeks or even months before you can (maybe) get a pay out. When I realized this I stopped using any faucet that worked like that. In the end, I kept using five different faucets that all use Coinpot.co for their payout their payout.

Coinpot handles three different currencies: Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Litecoin. It is easy and free to convert between these three and minimum payout is quite reasonable. You only need 50 Dogecoin or 0.002 Litecoin to make a no fee withdrawal. I have made several successful withdrawals of both Doge and Litecoin. It is harder to reach the minimum for Bitcoin, that requires 50000 satochi if you want to avoid a fee.
Making money with faucets is possible but will take lots of time with minimal payout. In my opinion, it is not worth it.It is possible to increase your earnings by using referrals and getting lots of other people to visit faucets with your referal-links. You can also start your own faucet and make money from advertisements on the site.

Here are links to the 5 faucets that use Coinpot for payouts:

moonliteco.in
moondoge.co.in
moonbit.co.in
bitfun.co
bonusbitcoin.co

These links are my referal-links so if you click on them I will get a small referral bonus. Try it if you want, but know that my opinion is that faucets are not worth your time!

Interesting! I'll check out the link - and thank you for stopping by and taking time to comment on my post.

Faucets are a good way to make 5 or 10 cents an hour for your work. It is a terrible way to make money, and it quickly becomes tedious.

I fully agree with you! I still visit these faucets once a day and can transfer out about 0.02 LTC every few days. I'll probably stop doing even that before too long.
