Paul Puey CEO tweeted that they may have to start paying Airbitz employees with either Litecoin or Ethereum due to the high Bitcoin transaction fees.

"Airbitz is a bitcoin wallet provider and merchant directory headquartered in San Diego, CA founded by Paul Puey, Scott Morgan, Tim Horton, William Swanson, and Damian Cutillo." Wikipedia

Charlie Lee, the founder of Litecoin retweeted the post with the comment " Seems like a good time to add Litecoin support to Airbitz!"

As Bitcoin transaction fees and times increase, the move into other alt coins such as Litecoin will accelerate.

A recent post from Steemian @kingscrown highlighted some of the obscene Bitcoin transaction fees.

I encourage you to check out his post here

Stories like these won't be going away anytime soon as it appears there is no resolution on the horizon for the Bitcoin community.

This may be an opportunity for Litecoin which successfully activated SegWit, to solidify it's place in the crypto market.

What do you think?

Have you experienced high BTC fees?

Will Litecoin become a viable alternative?

Staff at @Airbitz all get paid in #bitcoin. With fees skyrocketing, we may have to switch to @litecoin or… twitter.com/i/web/status/8…

Seems like a good time to add Litecoin support to Airbitz! 😁 twitter.com/paullinator/st…

I like Airbitz and hope they do end up supporting Litecoin (LTC)

VRC has 0.1 transaction fee and is much faster than litecoin.

The recent drop in Litecoin was just shaking the tree to get rid of weak hands so the whales could buy more before the real rise. The jump from $3.00 to $39 was nothing compared to what we are going to see.

It is definitely something I will keep my eye on. I will be posting about any developments.

Great post by you like I mentioned earlier on my BTC in Canada update.

LiteCoin is like my little brother, I blog on him a lot, I like him a lot and am attached to him and want him to do well.

LOL

Haha, Litecoin is an important member of the crypto family!

Great article.

It is fascinating to watch the free market work.

Thanks! Exactly! There are some really interesting things happening between the BTC and LTC community, I hope to post more about that this week.
It is amazing to think everyone is now able to choose which currency they want to hold and use!

Thank you for keeping us all updated on current activities!

Yes! The options and freedom to choose are becoming a great selling point for current users, and I imagine it will be a nice segway for future users.

No problem! I enjoy following these types of stories. I think the people and drama behind the technology can be equally as interesting as the tech itself. I think one of the most important things in life is perspective, I believe I have developed my own enough to realize we are watching/ part of history.

I agree part of the intrigue of the story is the people. What we do today echoes in history. :)
