coinstats crypto portfolio tracker

There are literally dozens of services out there that will track your cryptocurrency portfolio, but few are as easy and complete as Coinstats. Through the Coinstats website and their Android/IOS app, you can automatically keep track of the cryptocurrencies you purchase and keep track of how much profits or losses you have made.

Besides tracking your portfolio, Coinstats also serves as a great cryptocurrency price overview tool. Compared to other similar websites, I think that Coinstats offers one of the most visually pleasing overviews out there.

That's not all though, they also allow you to customize a personal news feed, which keeps you up-to-date in case there are shifts happening in the crypto landscape. With support for over 3000 different cryptocurrencies & 100 exchanges, Coinstats is easily the best crypto portfolio tracker out there!

Cryptocurrency Price Overview

The Coinstats app and website offer you a full overview of all cryptocurrency prices, making it a great all-in-one alternative for Coinmarketcap. You can easily check the state of the cryptocurrency market from within the app or website.

Coinstats has a couple of nice additional features which other crypto price overview websites do not offer, namely the ability to check liquidity, developer & community scores of any given coin (only available in the mobile app). Recent news items are also displayed whenever you click on a coin, making it easy to have all the information at the ready without having to switch to other websites or apps.

I quite like Coinstats' interface, it's clean and presents information in a way that is easily viewable. Keep in mind that you have the option of choosing between a light and dark interface, I personally prefer the dark one.

Crypto Portfolio Sync Options

To make full use of the automatic transaction import features, you can choose to synchronize Coinstats with:

  • Cryptocurrency wallets
  • Exchange accounts
  • Metamask
  • Ledger hardware wallet

Supported exchanges: Binance - Bitmex - Bitstamp - Cex.io - Coinbase - IDEX - HitBTC - Kraken - Liquid - Bitfinex - Bitso - Bittrex - Cryptopia - Hadax - HuobiPro - KuCoin - Poloniex

This will allow you to track all your cryptocurrency transactions automatically, so you can keep a close eye on your profits/losses through Coinstats. This process is completely straightforward and Coinstats does not have access to your funds, since you're only submitting an API key with limited functions.

Of course, you can also choose to enter your cryptocurrency holdings manually, in which case you'll be able to add at which price you bought in. This gives you a perfect overview of your current ROI, as you can see in the example below.

The Verdict

Coinstats offers their basic services for free and for most people, these will certainly be enough to accurately keep track of their coins. However, they also have some paid premium features, which could be useful if you want to track investments on more than two exchanges.

Their pricing for these premium features is more than fair, you can already subscribe for a monthly fee of $5. With that, you get additional notification features on their mobile app and you won't have any limitations on the number of exchanges you can import into your account. Note that with a premium account, you can also export your portfolio for tax purposes, which is an extremely useful feature for people who run cryptocurrency businesses.

What I like most about Coinstats is their modern, non-obtrusive interface. The free version is more than enough for me currently, but I might consider upgrading once I begin to add more cryptocurrency-related activities into my business.

Thanks for the great review @daan!

My pleasure! If you have some time, you can give Ty Daniel a rating of my work, it would help me out immensely, thanks.

Looks like a very beautiful app... I might have missed it, but is it possible to change the tracking currency? I see only usd in the screenshots.

Yeah definitely, they support a lot of other currencies ;)

Thanks! That's a fair few! I currently use cointracking but I might have a peek at this..

That is pretty awesome! I can see how the news feature would come in really handy. I usually spend my evenings getting up to date on the latest crypto news and checking my holdings here and there. Being able to do all of that in a single apps as opposed to five separate ones would be a massive time saver. Thanks for this great review!

Yeah, I'd really recommend downloading the app and trying it out, you'd be surprised at how many features it has!

This is the first tracker I ever used. it was great until my portfolio went above a specific value and then they forced me to pay. Bah!

Still you don't get something for nothing anywhere. I loved it until this happened.

Hey there. So sorry to hear that. We used to limit the amount of portfolio for free users, which we don't do at the moment. You can track your portfolio for free and pay only for advanced features like order fill notifications.

which we don't do at the moment.

Good to know, but is that for ever? I would like to use it again but entering all my stats again only to be told, 'you must pay' later wouldn't be good!

Yes :) Even back then we never introduced that limitation after getting users use it for free. Its been always stated in few places in the app. Anyway! Would love to have you back.

Aww, that's not fun, I initially thought it just limited the notification options on the mobile app and the number of coins you could import.

Thanks for the nice review, always good to hear how software performs before taking the time to download and test, research is time consuming.

Yup, that's the goal, to help people decide before they download the app :)

This is a very cool tool, looks like it has everything I need. Thanks for the review, it's really helpful.

This coinstat looks like a cool one. But does it have exchange features like binance right

Right, you can connect all your exchanges and wallets for FREE :)

Looks Like a handy app, I mainly only have steem and a couple of small amounts ( very small ) of others but an app like this could be very handy I may have to go and get it
thanks for sharing
