Samsung To Support Ethereum In Other Galaxy Phone Models
Local news outlets in South Korea have recently revealed that Samsung is planning to extent its cryptocurrency and blockchain support.
Chae Won-Cheol, senior managing director of the Product Strategy Team at Samsung Electronics’ Wireless Business Division states that they will lower barriers into the space by gradually expanding the number of Galaxy models that support blockchain functions.
Initially target markets include South Korea, United States and Canada.
This announcement comes after the Korean-based electronics giant release Galaxy S10 which was equipped with a cryptocurrency wallet dubbed as the Samsung Blockchain Wallet which has the ability to store coins and private keys.
Chae also revealed that aside from expanding the Galaxy models that supports crypto and blockchain functions the his company is keen to boost security and convenience through the aid of blockchain-based identification and local currencies by partnering with telecom operators.
