New Powerful Ethereum Miner To Hit Stores Next Year

Linzhi, a Shenzhen-based new crypto mining equipment manufacturer is ready to produce its first batch of powerful mining machines for Ethereum and Ethereum Classic.

The company is the brainchild of Chen Min, a former chip design head at Canaan Creative, the maker of the Avalon bitcoin miner, and, according to its founder is completely self-funded with around $3.8 million capital.

Chen wants to create one of the most efficient ethash ASIC miner with a target specification at 14000 mega hashes per second (MH/s) with an electricity consumption level of one Kilowatt-hour.

To put this into the proper perspective NVIDIA’s GTX TitanV 8 card is one of the most profitable equipment with 656MH/s and a power consumption level of 2.1 kWh.

The price of the new Linzhi miner is not yet released but it is interesting how the Ethereum community will react to this hardware since the community seems to be moving away from the Proof-of-work algorithm into Proof-of-stake.
