Russia to Legalize Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies
The Russian government is currently working on a legal framework that will regulate Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency transactions according to a report.
It was just last year that the Russian Ministry prohibited the use of cryptocurrencies in the country as it is considered unsafe back then.
Today, the country realized that this virtual currencies are real and are already part of the economy.
This move will also help the government wind down the black market.
However, some people are against of the legalization as they see the black market as free of standards, free of morals, free of social responsibility and free of dominance and control.
There's Still a Chance for Bitcoin ETF
It was March this year that the Winklevoss twins submitted the first Bitcoin ETF or Exchange Traded Fund for approval by the U.S. SEC or Securities and Exchange Commission.
It was then rejected and have greatly affected the price of Bitcoin with a decrease of more than $370 within just a short period of time.
There were high expectations for the proposal at that time which have led to dismay and may have caused the price to drop.
However, there is still a remaining hope for Bitcoin ETF. At an ETF event in Washington DC which was hosted by the US SEC and New York University, where SEC made a clarification about their stance about Bitcoin ETF.
It was said that they do not totally reject Bitcoin but they are just waiting for more stability on the Bitcoin marketplace before they could allow the approval of a crypto ETF.
