Digital Safety Deposit Box For Cryptocurrency In Canadian Box

A Canadian digital only bank, VersaBank has recently announced its Digital Safety Deposit Box, VersaVault for cryptocurrency exchanges and crypto investment funds to store digital assets.

According to Wade MacBain, VersaBank Director of Investor Relations they have already received over 200 inquiries about the said service.

Its CEO, David Taylor later added that while many are considering ideas and planning to have a digital safety deposit box, his company has already designed it and built it.

He reveals that the company is now ready to commercialize and enable its client to experience the first of its kind service with the most sophisticated security and authentication technology.

VersaVault project was spearheaded by the former principle architect of cybersecurity in Blackberry Gurpeet Sahora.

According to the company they want to offer the best storage solutions for this new asset class and enable crypto holders a better way to hold their digital asset.

New Rankings In Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings

Weiss has recently launched its new cryptocurrency ratings.

According to its ranking cryptos can get a rating ranging from E- to A+.

Cryptos that has A and B is considered “buy.” Cryptos that has C levels are considered “hold” while cryptos that has D or below ratings are considered “sell.”

In the latest ranking only four out of the hundreds the firm analyzed got Buys. These are XRP, XLM, ADA and EOS. They were rated greater than B.

XRP and XLM are seen as appealing to business and other organization mainly for speedy financial transfers.

The Weiss group sees EOS and ADA as designed to be more of virtual communities spanning a broad range of applications.

Bitcoin on the other hand has garnered a C rating.

While it has much potential for adoption, it did not have as many technological innovations as other developments.

It may increase in rating once the lightning network is implemented but it may take some before it launches.

Trezor Upgrades Supported Cryptos On Its Wallets

The popular cryptocurrency hardware wallet, Trezor released two new firmware updates on both of its models Trezor Model T and Trezor One which comes after enabling its user to be able to trade in their wallets directly.

The new firmware upgrades will enable its wallets to support more cryptocurrencies.

According to their official release the new firmware for Trezor Model T will support a wider range of different cryptocurrencies which includes Groestlcoin, Zencash, Tezos, Decred, Lisk, Ripple, Stellar, Monero, Zcash Sapling hardfork and Cardano.

On the other hand Trezore One, the original Trezor hardware wallet has received a firmware update, adding support for WebUSB for both Trezor wallt and Trezor Password Manager.

This is in addition to the recent inclusion of Lisk and Stellar support.

Full Node And Wallet For Liquid Bitcoin

After launching its Liquid Bitcoin, Sidechain Blockstream, a company that is focusing on the development of Bitcoin Technologies, has recently announced its liquid full node binary and source code was ready and made available to all user.

This release will enable any use can now operate a full node in the P2P Liquid Network enabling them to trustlessly self-validate the chain.

The release includes utilities that enable users to issue, trade and manage liquid assets and a wallet to manage the sidechain utility token L-BTC.

The Blockstream team is also hard at work working on other features such as GreenAddress for Gui Wallet support and hardware wallet support for Liquid Assets from Trezor and Ledger.

The liquid is an innovative sidechain on top of the Bitcoin network.

Enabling faster bitcoin transactions between businesses and individuals with extended confidentiality functionality which makes it a very powerful tool for financial institutions such as banks.

THAI SEC Seen To Approve First ICO Portal Soon

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been reported to allow the opening of the country’s first portal for initial coin offering (ICOs) this month, with ICO approvals to quickly follow.

The portal‘s role is to examine and regulate the companies and projects that is planning to launch for an ICO in the country.

With its approval in November, it is expected that the approval process of ICO will start in December.

According to Rapee Sucharitakil, the secretary general of Thailand’s SEC the new portal will act as a financial adviser to companies planning to launch an ICO.

Its role is to examine the purpose of an ICO launch and the business plan of the companies planning these offerings.

It will be the main entry point for projects who wants to gain approval from SEC.

The Secretary General says that ICO is still illegal in the country.

However with this new agency it hopes that it will be able to start allowing some projects to conduct ICO before the end of the year or early next year.
