BlockShow Europe 2018 Update

A week before the European Blockchain conference the organizing team has release a massive update on what 3000 attendees will expect in Berlin on May 28-29.

The organizers will be bringing in more than 100 blockchain experts and practitioners.

One of which is Jimmy Whales, the mastermind of Wikipedia, who is listed in Time’s one of the top 100 most influential people.

Four mains topics will be discussed in the said conference namely: Government Blockchain initiatives, Blockchain in the enterprise, next generation blockchains and Blockchain humanitarian use cases.

Aside from the regular talk show there is also the BLockShow Oscar where the each Blockchain-based start-up companies get the opportunity gain visibility among the Blockchain community but also compete for the main prize of 50,000 Euros.

Man-Made Floating Pacific Island A Crypto Utopia

Startups blueFrontiers and Seasteading are creating man-made islands that can support about 300 families with their own form of government and currency.

This is in response to some governments suffocating and strict business and monetary policies.

According to Blur Frontier’s website their main focus now is researching on critical engineering, legal and business challenges as well as increasing public awareness and community building.

Its project has chosen the Polynesian Island as the starting point and will serve as testing grounds for future floating systems.

Fundstrat’s Lee Still Predicts $25K Price for Bitcoin After Failed Prediction

Thomas Lee as admitted that his prediction of Bitcoin prices mooning after Consensus 2018 was erroneous.

After correctly predicting that prices will rally after tax related selling he boldly claimed that a rally will happen again during or after the Consensus 2018, which did not happen.

He cited out of three issues that needed to be address for the Bitcoin rally to ensue, two was only met.

While there were some progress in setting institutional custody/tools and buy-in by banks/investment managers, regulatory clarity is not yet in place to open the flood gates of investments.

Despite making the erroneous prediction he still insist that bitcoin price will still reach 25k USD later this year.

Bitcoin Price Jumps 200 USD

The price of Bitcoin has jumped by $200 USD by the time of this articles writing to $8500, the highest point since last Monday which has seen it rose to $8,800.

A well-known cryptocurrency bull, Tom Lee, of Fundstrat has boldly predicted that the price of bitcoin will rise during or after the said conference.

However this did not happen. In fact it has lost about 10% of its overall value while the said event was taking place. He pointed out that cryptocurrencies are still facing significant internal resistance and hurdles within traditional institutions.

However, the number one cryptocurrency in the world by capitalization, seemingly on its path to recovery as well as other major cryptocurrencies as they are hurling towards green territory.

Cryptocurrency Market Increases To $392 billion Capitalization

The cryptocurrency market has seen a slight recovery from dipping from a May 18 dipped of $361 billion total capitalization to $392 billion moving towards $400 billion.

Bitcoin is up by around 3% in the last 24 hours during press time and is currently trading in the $8,520 territory and Ethereum (ETH) prce has also seen a 3% increase with prices hovering above $700.

It was widely seen that prices of cryptocurrency will rise during or after one of the biggest events in the crypto sphere- Consensus 2018.

However this did not happen and cryptocurrency bulls as attributed it to the lack of understanding of cryptocurrency regulators and some regulatory hurdles in some countries like India where its central bank has banned cryptocurrency related transactions.
