Brian Armstrong Coinbase CEO Launches Crypto Charity Platform

One of the co-founder and CEO of Coinbase has launched a cryptocurrency charity platform that will hold and distribute cryptocurrencies to people in need.

He believes that cryptocurrency has the potential to create more innovation and change the world by forming a more equitable and open global financial system.

It will start with direct-cash transfers in the form of cryptocurrency.

Initially the charity platform will rely on local ambassadors who will find recipients in need and distribute cryptocurrency to them.

Then it will experiment with partnering with other non-profit organizations within the country or market they plan to support.

Using a mobile application it will streamline the distribution process.

These initial phases will help them get a clearer picture of how they should proceed with their initiative.

Russian Higher Learning Institution To Store Diplomas In Blockchain

One of the top ranked university in Russia, Moscow-based Financial University has announced that it will be storing diploma records using blockchain technology.

It has revealed it has done so for the diplomas issue over the past ten years.

The university said that beginning on September 2018, potential employers will be able to check the authenticity of any digital diplomas on the university website.

It also added that the technology used to encrypt the data of each diploma is similar to that used by Bitcoin, SHA-256 algorithm.

In another part for the world, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is said to be the first to profit from digital diplomas using blockchain back in October 2017.

Pornhub Supports Two New Cryptos

Pornhub has discretely added support to new cryptocurrencies as payment option for its premium subscriptions.

The two cryptocurrencies are Zencash and Tronix.

This inclusion has given some sort of legitimacy to TRON as it recently transferred to its own mainnet.

It is interesting to note that despite much hype and fanfare surrounding its transfer to its own blockchain, its price seems to keep on dropping even if bitcon has experience some slight recovery.

Zencoin might have been included as a payment option in the site due to its enhanced anonymity and mode combining proof of stake with proof of work.

It is also interesting to see Zencash included given its recent security breach to its network.

SEC Seeking Comment On Another Bitcoin ETF

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is seeking comments on the possible bitcoin-based exchange-traded fund (ETF) which was proposed by Cboe to list and trade the SolidX Bitcoin shares.

The said ETF is said to be the result of investment firm VanEck partnering with blockchain startup SolidX.

It was said that it is VanEck’s third attempt to create a Bitcoin investment vehicle.

Jan can Eck CEO of VanEck believes that Bitcoin is a legitimate investment option and can be considered as digital gold that is worthwhile to have in investors’ portfolio despite regulatory difficulties from the past.

He also added that a properly constructed physically-backed Bitcoin ETF will be designed to provide exposure to the price of bitcon and an insurance to protect investors from operational risk of sourcing and holding Bitcoin.

Crypto Invest Summit Featuring Tim Draper

Venture Capitalist Visionary and crypto investor pioneer Tim Draper is holding a book signing and Fireside chat at the Crypto Invest Summit that will be help October 22-24 in Los Angeles.

He will be discussing pioneering crypto investing and sign copies of his book “How to be The Startup Hero: A Guide and Textbook for Entrepreneurs and Aspiring Entrepreneurs.”

The event is said to be the largest west coast conference and expo for crypto and blockchain enthusiast.

Mr. Draper will grace the event on October 24th at 9:30 a.m. where he will give free copies of his book to the first 1000 expo attendees.

The summit is said to feature more than 200 speakers, educational panels, fireside chats, an ICO pitch stage and the largest crypto expo floor on the West Coast.
