Ethereum Blockchain Upgrades

Ethereum co-founder and creator Vitalik Buterin has revealed possible upgrades for the Ethereum blockchain during the 40th Ethereum Core Devs Meeting last June 15, 2018.

The upgrades includes a revision in the implementation of Casper FFG that will be dubbed Casper v2 that will keep the Proof-of-Stake (POS) component separate from the main chain in a beacon chain.

This will enable a less intrusive development, and users would be able to make their own voting rules and rules for other aspects of the Ethereum blockchain.

A sharding function would also be enabled on the beacaon chain and would operate with the PoS consensus algorithm Casper provides.

This development would smooth the transition to full PoS and Sharding implementation on the main chain because sharing can be built into Casper V2.
