Bitcoin Core Version 0.16.1 Released

Bitcoin Core Version 0.16.1 has officially been released according to sources on June 15, 2018.

The new release is said to have new features, bug fixes, performance improvements and translation updates.

One particular revision is the removal of “-blockmaxsize” to limit block sizes, this was replaced by “-blockmaxweight” command to limit weight of their blocks.

With this upgrade newly created wallets will not be compatible with versions prior to 0.16. Wallets 0.16 and up supports Segregated Witness (SegWit) scaling technology which was designed to reduce processing time and wait times as well as transaction fees.

Jimmy Song states that SegWit (Bench32) will get much more adoption as a result of this update and reduce block bloat.

Ethereum Roadmap Revamp Suggest Activating Biggest Upgrades Simultaneously

The development team behind Ethereum is considering possible changes to the roll out of new technology to the platform.

Vitalik Buterin, the founder and creator of Ethereum, revealed in one of the meetings of the platform’s open-source developers that Casper and Sharding updates might be released and activated simultaneously.

Casper might be released on a sidechain or shard rather than a smart contract as previously been proposed.

Casper is Ethereums code name for consensus change to proof-of-stake that is more energy efficient and egalitarian while Sharing is its scaling solution.

Being that the case the next hardfork of Ethereum called Constantinople will not include Casper-related changes.

The proposed changes will lower the required deposit of ETH from 1,500 to 32 ETH to participate in securing the network.

New Hollywood Crypto Movie In The Works

The first Hollywood Cryptocurrency themed movie is set to be release later this year according to some news outlets.

The movie will focus on laundering of virtual assets and actors from Westworld and Man men will be cast for the movie.

Set in upstate New York, the indie thriller will tell of a story of how anti-money laundering agent uncovers a network of fraud and corruption in a small town.

The director of the movie Jonh Stalberg Jr. is very upbeat about the movie saying that it was a very timely project as cryptocurrency has captured the imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world.

Bitcoin Accepted In A 550-Year-Old Istanbul Market

A 550-year-old market located in Istanbul, Turkey is said to have started accepting Bitcoins.

According to online bitcoin community member some of the merchants there are accepting bitcoins.

Inside the market place there is a currency exchange called Santral Doviz which accepts bitcoins.

Tourist there can buy and sell Bitcoin with the national currency of Turkey Lira.

This is viewed as a positive sign of adoption showing demand from tourist and local residents for cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies are not declared illegal in Turkey however the Turkish financial authorities declared that Bitcoin is not money and warned banks of any cryptocurrency related activities.

Earn Cryptocurrency By Just Riding A bike


An electric bicycle distributor, 50 Cycles, wants to celebrate there being in the business for 15 years with a novel idea of mining cryptocurrency while riding I an electronic bike.

The bike dubbed as Toba is expected to be delivered on September this year.

The cryptocurrency that will be mined is called LoyalCoin which will be mined at the rate of $30 for every 1,000 cycled.

Its CEO and Founder of 50 Cycles, Scott Snaith said that this is not only the first electronic bike of its kind but it will also be the first product ever to be tokenized issues rewards for use.

Mr. Snaith also state that his company has always been committed to exploring new technological trends such as blockchain, cryptocurrency and product tokenization.

This is said to be part of the company’s commitment to promoting digital currency economy and rewarding customers who are using green transporation.
