Mastercard Applies For Blockchain-Powered Identity Security Patent

“Payments Giant,” Mastercard applied for a patent that it plans to use to secure identity management and battle identity fraud. It submitted the application last year at the month of September.

It describes the system to enable them to receive and store indentity data using a semi-private or private Blockchain.

Only Mastercard-approved nodes makes changes in the information stored in it Blockchain.

It is not the first time Mastercard submitted Blockchain-related patents.

It filed last year Blockchain-powered systems that will enable it to facilitate refund services for cryptocurrency users as well as processing of payments.

Currenty, Mastercard are hiring 175 Blockchain developers.

Subdermal Chip Implant To Store Bitcoin

The marketing manager of General Bytes that manufactures bitcoin ATM, Martjin Wismeijer have himself implanted a near-field communication (NFC) microchip that he plans to use to store cryptocurrency.

He hired a body piercing artist to do the job for $75 US Dollars.

“Mr. Bitcoin,” the name he calls himself got the idea from a friend that is working in a biohacking firm. The chip is made of glass and has the dimensions of about 2mm by 12mm.

Due its limited storage he recommends crypto users to have two chips implanted, one at each hands.

Due to prevalent cryptocurrency theft, cryptocurrency users have been looking for ways to effectively store their holdings. There have been reports of cryptocurrency robberies.

Nasa Looking Into Ethereum BLockhain Technology For Deep Space Exploration

The National Aeronautical and Space Administration or NASA is exploring the possibility of using Ethereum ‘s smart contracts technology that can be used to automate flight path calculations and response automatically when presented with environmental hazards.

Led by Dr. Jin Wei Kocsis, recipient of a 3-year $330,000 grant, hopes to develop an autonomous cognitive Architecture that is of no need of crucial information from scientist back on earth.

He further added that the Ethereum Blockchain will be studied to develop a centralized, secure and cognitive networking and computing infrastructure to deep space exploration.

Moscow Chinese Merchants Prefers Crypto Than Cash

Chinese merchants who owns about 90% of the three largest bazaars in Moscow, “Moskva.”
“Sadovod,” and “Food City,” are said to be converting all their sales to Cryptocurrency and sending them back to China where they can convert it to Yuan.

This was revealed by Central Bank of Russia’s Head of Financial Monitoring and Currency Control Department, Yuri Polupanov, who estimates the Chinese merchants are making around 600 Billion Rubles or approximately around $10 Billion USD and none are being deposited in bank accounts.

Elina Sidorenko, head of a working group at the Duma acknowledges of these illegal activities and says that these are nothing new.

She added that if there are proof of illegal crypto-fiat exchange it should be litigated in the proper forum. Two draft laws regulating the use of cryptocurrencies have been introduce in the state Duma.

Amazon Won A Patent For Data Market Places

A company owned by Amazon, Amazon Technologies was granted a patent for a streaming data marketplace where subscribers can receive real –time transaction data for cryptocurrencies.

The patent is for a system where users can put data streaming feeds for sale where customers can subscribe.

The patents states that there are many use case for such a service such as analytics for internet retailers and law enforcements.

If and when Amazon decides to build “centralized” marketplace would be a huge competitive challenge to decentralized startups like Streamer.
