The United States-based cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex is incorporating Chainalysis to know your transaction (KYT) tool to spot high-risk transactions.

This was revealed during a press release last September 26 by Chainalysis Inc for the deployment of a real-time transaction monitoring solution to the aforementioned American exchange.

According to Bill Shihara, CEO at Bittrex, the new monitoring system was installed in an attempt to meet new and existing regulatory and compliance standards, Chainalysis KYT is an important tool in having an effective anti-money laundering program by helping the exchange prevent, detect and address unlawful behavior.

Chainanlysis currently supports and monitors 25 cryptocurrencies and will continue to add additional cryptocurrencies in the future.

This development follows the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) advisory which states that cryptocurrency exchanges must assure digital currencies are not being used in money laundering and related crimes.
