Amazon’s New Patent Raises Possibility Of Bitcoin Integration
Amazon has recently applied for a patent involving cryptographic proof-of-work which interestingly the algorithm enables blockchain the technology that underpins Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
This news caught the attention of many cryptocurrency personalities with many of them speculating that the e-commerce giant has began softening up on the emerging asset class which it has never accepted before.
However looking at the patent application itself cryptocurrencies were never mentioned on its application.
Perhaps cryptocurrency community was quick to react to the fact that Amazon will be utilizing the same technology it has been using in an use case that does not involve cryptocurrency at all.
The crypto community is still hoping that the biggest e-commerce company in the world will soon accept the new asset class directly but for now users can just use third party payments solutions that enables them to pay crypto to Amazon.
