G-rant about steem, Ned, Dan, steem dollar, curation guilds, bitcoin, and Donald TrumpsteemCreated with Sketch.

@craig-grant
you are right that steem needs more demand, and I am looking for the soon to be released steemit road-map to address the issues surrounding demand, with a clear plan for user growth and retention, and perhaps by February 2017 the implemented plan will increase demand

I think mid feb 2017 will be a big watershed. Its when the HF16 powerdowns will finish up, and its also when busy goes to open beta. Its possible that well see a turnaround then, especially if the whales who decided to wait then have the option to cash out and elect not to. I think its more likely that well just see a decrease in the rate of decline. One of the realities of having a larger money supply is that by then, we're there is going to be a lot more inertia to overcome to change the direction price is moving. Personally, i don't see the "roadmap" as really relevant, and i don't see user retention and growth as something that can happen in this organization from the top down. Ned and Dan are very smart people, but theyre not perfect, or in the bible. Everyone is bad at something, and bringing people on board is something that seems to be a weak suit of the management here.

Ned and Dan are not focused on the price of steem or what whales do. Dan is focused on scaleability, and Ned is focused on user growth and retention(distribution). Your comment reads like someone who is very focused on the price of steem and the market, and that is not the focus at Steemit headquarters right now. As far as the price of steem, anything less than 20 cents is a great buy, and if it stays that low for 3 more months, I will be buying tons of steem for sure

good video as usual Craig

just i don't agree with Trump part

You gave an insight... that the Trump part is hard to agree with if you don't live in the USA

yes you are right , my view on Trump based mainly on his foreign policy witch concern me the most and his view about diversity , women and some racist concept i think he hold .
Maybe he has other side that i cant see , because like you said i dont live in US although till now i have a negative image about him till something make me reconsider it
I hope US will get through his 4 years presidency unharmed
cheers bro

Hes not racist or sexist at all

i hope so reginald

Well he could be but I mean from what hes said and done so far I don't think you can make that conclusion yet.

There you go, I was looking for your video update today, and now it came... I watch your blog more then I watch any main stream media!... Thats the present of today or NOW as you would put it :)

Busy should offer some of the same features Discord offers as well...imagine if we can make a product so good people leave slack, rocket chat and discord to come our way. Busy should offer all of the features its competitors offer and more. Solid post / video @craig-grant

Steemit got my attention in May 2016 because it's a live platform that works. Busy does not exist, and I wont consider it as anything to care about until is does exist. The crypto space is overflowing with money being passed back and forth for imaginary ideas, that's a total waste of time and money. Busy is not anything to get excited about until it's in beta like steemit.

I agree. I am in the same boat as you more or less. With that said its always good to have projects like that on the horizon. I hope for the best.

It does exist but is closed alpha. I haven't tried it but some other steemit users have. I generally agree with your skepticism though, that it doesn't really count until users can get on it.

It's not easy to build applications like busy, and blockchain technology is at the forefront. Developers who can build something like busy are very rare, so I give it a 50/50 chance. It's annoying to see others talk about like it's a done deal, I am grateful steemit has made it this far and confident it will continue to strive to greater heights. I know Ned talks about Busy in his interviews, but I think that's just a pain pill to sooth any bad reputation(FUD) steemit has gathered in the past months. Busy being in beta will have no bad reputation, so it will be amazing when/if it does launch.

If you havn't listen to this podcast , it worth it love how they are going to focus on growth and they are going to use the same strategies that all the major social media big wigs like facebook had to do to get mass adoption https://steemit.com/steemspeak/@steemspeak/sneakspeak-on-steemspeak-radio-the-future-of-steemit-the-upcoming-roadmap-questions-and-answers

i think giving up SBD would be a very bad thing.

It is very important that regular folks can get their rewards in something that reflects a value they understand.

Steem will never be astable currency as long as the platform is growing. SBD is one of they key innovations that steem has.

steem will be a much stronger currency without the ball and chain of SBD, and users who get paid will follow the money wherever it goes, steem with SBD is like a baby with a pacifier, already got rid of pampers(hyper inflation), and steem will be a toddler soon, no need for SBD

Well that is if you want steem to not have a currency. The most important aspect of a a useful currency is stable value. Else it is simply a resource or token value that has fluctuation value depending on demand & currency supply.

Steem is the only crypto that has a stable currency without being physically pegged. Stable currency supply (or slightly inflationary) does not provide stable value.

A stable currency will allow steem blockchain to take over the role of day to day currency and allow all kinds of applications that cannot be done with other crypt currencies.

This is why i think that as long as steem is not the default economy of most of its users, a stable currency will be most useful to do actual economic transactions which you cannot do with steem, due to its fluctuations.

cryptocurrency works best when it is not forced to be stable, SBD forces stability and keeps the value of steem down down down, time to get rid of SBD

Again, if u dont want currency. But i would argue that currency is valuable for many applications. Anything that requires economic exchange has use for a currency.

There is a value in having different tokens for the different purposes: rewards & speculation (steem), investment, influence & stake(sp) and currency (sbd)

steem is the currency, SBD is a smart contract that stifles the value of steem

SBD forces stability and keeps the value of steem down down down

According to dan the effect is neutral, not negative. You know better?

Every article I have seen addressing the top of SBD's impact on STEEM has been entirely one-sided, when in reality it is "neutral".

always a pleasure - great vid

I do not think we should get rid of SBD unless there is a way to hold Bitcoin here and use Steem/BTC in the internal market as a replacement.

interesting idea, yes that would be great to have a btc wallet on steemit, integrated with coinbase to buy btc on steemit

All we need it steemit to set up bank transfers and then astalavista coinbase! LOL I would love to be able to just transfer funds back and fourth to my bank account. Coinbase shut me down already so I have no no easy access to BTC or new steem anymore, so relying on coinbase for anything might be futile!

Great points. I think a referral program would be very good for steem.

Haha! I'm only 2 minutes in that video and I felt the need to upvote.

Do you have a link to more information about Dunald Trumps financial advisor? I have a hard time believing they will implement bitcoin as the currency of USA. It would be great, but thats not how I think government work, am I wrong?
