Market Summary

Market Cap: $101,644,197,332

Similar to yesterday we're seeing a bit more money trickle out of the market as prices fall a small amount this morning. Gnosis and Antshares are currently the only two in the top 20 that are green over the last week, with some taking double digit losses. Look for PIVX to start rising even more as people catch wind of their recent news (successfully minted and sent coins under the zerocoin protocol on their testnet) in the video below.

Stop Using Blockfolio App - Its Calling Home with Too Much Info (+Small Safety Tutorial)

https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@kingscrown/stop-using-blockfolio-app-its-calling-home-with-too-much-info-small-safety-tutorial

While i knew this app is great i have only used it to track prices, i have never put there single info about my orders or amounts of what i own. Due to years online and 7th year in cryptocurrency (omg.. im so old) ive expected abuse to happen. I hate tracking of any kind and imagine here you give full info on your net worth to randoms. Due to todays finding it gets even better - they have over 100 000 downloads and can fully track move of everyone to not only track people but track and predict moves on markets.

Another leading Japanese bitcoin exchange, Coincheck, is also preparing to offer a similar insurance product by teaming up with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, a property and casualty insurance subsidiary of Tokio Marine Holdings. “We will indemnify damage incurred by unauthorized login to a user account that has set up 2-step authentication on the virtual currency exchange ‘Coincheck’ that we operate,” the exchange announced at the time, adding that “we will pay up to 1 million yen as compensation amount per request.”

https://news.bitcoin.com/restaurant-valenok-first-moscow-accept-bitcoin/

Mikhail Petuhov, managing partner at Novikov Group, told BFM.ru that his customers are young, modern and sophisticated. He described the time he was asked by a friend why his restaurant did not accept bitcoin so he decided to try it out. Two transactions were made, which was exciting, the publication reported him saying. “In the restaurant business, I had not heard of such examples. So, there is no one to ask, unfortunately,” he added. Petuhov explained how bitcoin payments work at his restaurant: “The seller generates a QR-code that contains the amount to be paid and the seller’s wallet address. The buyer scans this code using his Bitcoin smartphone app and makes the transaction.”

Paul Snow on Factom’s Scalability

http://factomize.com/paul-snow-on-factoms-scalability/

…distributed immutable data scalability is clearly achievable where distributed immutable computational scalability is very hard. Factom is the only distributed immutable data solution today. Another short answer is that BitTorrent scales exactly the same way. A torrent works because validation only requires that the data matches the hash. And nobody needs anything but the torrents they care about. Factom scales because validation only requires the data to match the hashes, and nobody needs anything but the user chains that they care about.

Japan retains a number of Thai immigrants seeking to send funds home to their families, and the new payment channel will drastically reduce the time and costs associated with these transfers.

We’ve seen your feedback, you voiced that we can improve our communication. That’s why I am here, please talk to me or Phabc on the slack, and we will aggregate all questions/issues and will move forward on solving them. Also starting next week, apart from Medium or Slack, we will continue to reach out via other channels like twitter, bitcointalk, telegram and reddit, which will allow us to interact with the community more. As far as our communications go, we are promising an update once a month on the first day of each month, with occasional additional blog posts in between, once something newsworthy happens. Also we might experiment with different communication formats — like live videos from time to time, allowing everyone to get up to date on a different level.

Details are sparse, not least because of the language barriers, but the Electronic Times claims to have obtained KPCO’s plans which suggest they are going to use blockchain technology to manage data from charging stations, to handle foreign businesses of charging services as well as to support customers that use the charging stations. “Besides EV charging stations, we are also looking into introducing blockchain to many areas such as Big Data platform. According to expansion of supply of electric vehicles, we are currently carrying out pilot projects that apply blockchain to management of demands and P2P,” said a representative for KEPCO ICT Infrature according to a somewhat rough translation by etnews.
