A Cryptocurrency Tale - Part One

We stand on the shores of a new world.  Before us we see a harsh wilderness, an untamed land.  Those who survive the journey across this land have the potential to build great civilizations.  On these shores stand brave pioneers, each with their own skills.  Who will survive?  Only time will tell.

Among these pioneers stands a tall warrior.  He is a veteran of old, battle scarred but strong.  Although he doesn’t posses great intellect, he is reliable and resilient.  No one knows where he came from but they know where he’s been.  He’s a hero to many but a traitor to the old world.  His fame is widely known.  His name is Bitcoin.

His protégé, also a mighty warrior, has followed his every step along the way.  He’s survived with Bitcoin through many battles.  Although not as famous as his mentor, he’s been faithful.  They share the same heritage and tradition.  Many have faith in their steadiness and experience.  His name is Litecoin.

A new face emerges from the group, a young warrior in disagreement with his father.  He’s convinced his father will not be able to adapt enough to survive.  In rebellion, he forges out on his own carrying the family name.  Although he’s seen as a traitor to his family, many follow him.  His followers believe his philosophy stays true to the family heritage.  He is the rebellious son of Bitcoin.  His name is Bitcoin Cash.

As we stand on the shores, we see bright flashes of blue light further down the cove.  We approach the light and see a plain looking man with bright blue eyes.  He shows no sign of physical strength but wields a powerful magical force called ether.  His followers believe that strength alone will not be enough to survive the journey.  This pioneer wields a powerful magic and intellect.  His name is Ethereum.

We continue down the shore and approach a man carrying a briefcase and wearing an expensive suit.  We ask if he’s also here to cross the wilderness.  He replies, “No.  My plan is to stay on the shore and connect the old world with the new.”  He opens up his briefcase and out flashes at a blistering speed a stream of numbers, graphs and charts.  He explains how his technology with revolutionize banking.  His name is Ripple.

Out of our peripheral vision we see a moving shadow.  We approach the shadow and before us stands a dark figure dressed in black crouched down like a ninja.  He quickly moves through the crowd like a cat completely undetected and returns to us.  We ask him what he has to offer.  He speaks to us in a whisper and says, “I can hide your secrets."  His name is Monero.

We notice something moving in our direction.  It doesn’t look human.  It has the appearance of a futuristic machine with flashing lights and beeping sounds.  We get closer and are amazed at what we see.  We wonder why it’s here.  It then turns on it’s bright display and shows us a new advanced technology used to connect machines together.  Skeptical at whether such an untested technology can survive the harshness of the wilderness, we are nevertheless amazed.  His name is Iota.
