Battle of the ICO's! - How you can pick a good one!

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

So here it goes... Below is a review of my personal experience of two of the most recent and widely publicised ICO’s that I’ve come across. As mentioned in a previous post, I’ve put a few dollars into both to go through the ICO process so I could improve my own research and hopefully help some others on what I consider red flags when trying to win the fight of picking the right ICO.

In the Blue corner weighing in at 34 million coin cap is Falcon Coin (FCC). In the red corner weighing in at 700 million token cap, is CyberMiles (CMT)

The Battle:

The Winner?:

CMT winning 5 compared to FFC winning 2, with 2 draws. The results probably don’t do justice to the actual experience however. Whilst time will tell on how each of them perform on the market, my experience puts me well in the Cyber Miles corner. CMT has all the markings of a well run ICO owned and operated by a professional and well established company. Falcon coin has many issues that hint of a potential scam, but again, this is only speculation and may be well off the mark.

In summary:

When looking into buying into an ICO there will always be an element of risk. Make your own judgement, but in my experience some of the Falcon Coin red flags that I saw and would be on the lookout for in future ICO opportunities are:

  • Who is the company, where are they based, and can you get access to details about the management team?
  • What is the quality and originality of the website like?
  • Can you gain access to and a see a good level of detail contained within the technical white-paper on what the product is and does. How does it differ from others out there?
  • Does the ICO have an active, and well run social media platform (including reporting and removing any fake accounts)?
  • Can you see other user experiences good or bad? IE – Have people had difficulties accessing the system, getting responses from support team, money locked up in the platform, etc.

Good luck! I'll report back in the future on how each of them go.
