Scaling Problems Of Ethereum Are On The Rise, What Will Happen In The Future?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

For the past couple of days Ethereum faced some major problems with transactions and scaling.

As most of cryptofans know, Ethereum has been pushed to market as a cryptocurrency which will not have scaling problems like Bitcoin.

Since Ethereum is made for apps, and other cool stuff that we haven't seen yet, handling millions of transactions is a very very important issue.

If Ethereum can't handle scaling like a champ, the vision of Ethereum being used in many apps, will not happen.

In the meantime, nowadays it's financially better to have an ICO and have your own altcoin, rather than using another coin like Ethereum. Even if the ICO doesn't succeed, we all know that cryptocurrencies are reaching mainstream attention, and ICO money won't be necessary to have a successful altcoin.

Steemit has already proved that you don't need Ethereum in your platform to succeed. In reality, it's better to have your own coin.

Vitalik Buterin (founder of Ethereum) might love the idea that many apps can use Ethereum in the future, but if scaling problems occur, and developers research about the risks of using Ethereum in their apps, and bump on news about scaling issues, that won't be very good for Ethereum.

If you Google search "Ethereum Scaling" you will already bump on articles like this one:

And many more content will be created, if the problems won't be solved very very quickly.

Many cryptofans are holding ethereum in their portfolios, and Vitalik has accomplished some amazing milestones already. Now, the time for walking the talk has arrived on the scaling part.

If Ethereum solves the issue with scaling, in a few months it will be the cryptocurrency with the largest market cap, sitting on number 1 spot.

If not, it will lose trust, it will lose investors, it will lose community support, and it will never be used in other popular apps and platforms.

Therefore, a fast and long term solution is needed, so the future of Ethereum can hit mainstream app and platform adoption.

I've actually written a few posts about this. Ethereum has its technical and architectural issues. I'm rooting for Stratis. Stratis has sidechains as supposed to the single one Ethereum has. This may interest you: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@valderrama/will-stratis-overtake-ethereum

And to follow up I wrote a more 'provocative' post: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@valderrama/stratis-will-beat-ethereum-in-2018

I'm also pretty interested in Stratis. It seems like it's going to be really good. I don't hate Ethereum tho, I think they are doing really great stuff, they just need to handle this problem so they can continue their mission.

I will check your posts too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you and you're very welcome!
