RE: Is Monero’s (or All) Anonymity Broken?

Lol.

He is repeating his theory that social media is stupid and worthless, which @miscreanity and I discussed a few months ago.

Afaik, Steemit makes no claims on the copyright of my content. The Steem blockchain records my content but my copyright claims remain my own. (I disclaimed copyright by default though except where I literally claim otherwise)

However, had he written, “let us steal your BTC” thing, then yes I would have agreed it is owned by the whales who can extract the most out of the system of voting curation funded from debasement of the money supply. But as long as there are more greater fools coming in, we’re ephemerally copacetic. And before it pumps off to a peak and collapses, I have an alternative planned.

How is Qntra going to compete? One of these days when I have more than just words in my underwear, I should join the WoT and talk. But alas, as @finitemaz reminds me, my testicles are raisins thus I should code.

I think perhaps Mircea Popescu doesn’t yet appreciate the utility of blockchains for other than just a high-value settlement currency (i.e. Bitcoin).

mircea_popescu: wouldja stop posting random rambling nonsense from the shannon noise farm ?

Extracted by one his sycophants out-of-context without proper attribution from my comment.

He has miscalculated before (blaming and misattributing someone publicly in his blog for something that person didn’t do). Thus committing the very act of being stupid that he is railing against, by insisting. Hubris comes before the fall. Mircea Popescu is intelligent but he isn’t omniscient and black swans do exist.

However, given it is taken out-of-context, he apparently didn’t know that I wrote above the misquote the caveat that I had not investigated whether TRB is already forked from Core. So if that is the case, then of course no BTC could be stolen on TRB. Note I have located a not so old blog of his which is intriguing but I am too sleepy to digest it now.

(Edit: I was not entirely thinking clearly. It is possible that what Mircea meant is that he didn’t want to receive quotes which were incoherent because for example possibly taken out-of-context.)

Hey who is dragging me into btcbase any way? Please stop. I didn’t ask to be pitted up against them. The last thing I need is to be distracted by retired old men who have nothing better to do but trade porn GIFs and bloviate the lint out of their navel all day, every day. At least show some production instead of vicarious daydreaming and share pics with yourself impregnating the girls:

asciilifeform: didn't mircea_popescu find a new chocolate icecream shop! he oughta go there, eat some, come back with theorem.
mircea_popescu: im gonna be off in a minute, fucking a new slut.
asciilifeform: maybe as good!
mircea_popescu: not usually.
asciilifeform: but before he does:
mircea_popescu: half the reason i'm a shitty scientist : unlike the good ones, i get laid.

Lol. Less talk, more visual proof.

Ah maybe he isn’t senile after all. He can’t even remember that he and I clashed about his SEC grandstanding on BCT and that he was sending me private messages at BCT in 2013 asking about some feud he had with “Tortilla” (aka @rpietila or Risto Pietila) when I didn’t even know who Mircea Popescu was. He sought me out because Risto and I had been business friends in 2008/9 and so Mircea Popescu knew who I was before I knew who he was. That is why I never took him seriously until he claimed to be the DAO attacker.

Thanks again. Apologies dragging you into the logs, I will no longer be apart of the discussions there, but will certainly read. Was just trying to build some sort of relevant discussion...

No worries, I understood your objective was merely to elicit responses for your and our edification on their threats about forking off Bitcoin. You were also hoping to ascertain their appraisal of my expertise and correctness of my analysis. I would also like their rebuttals/clarification (w/o requiring me to wade though years of archived bloviation mind programming and mental torture of indoctrination into their circlejerk culture), but afaics they didn’t make any on yesterday’s log.

It is quite relevant that you felt you had to be a sycophant to fit it there in order to get anyone to listen and respond to you. But to clarify, I’m not asking you to not participate in TMSR.

And one good result was because of reading those logs when you posted there, I noticed the discussion of the following Trilema blog.

Btw, I tentatively think (but want to think more) Mircea Popescu is incorrect in his misunderstanding of the economics of proof-of-work because PoW is incentives incompatible without an oligarchy on mining (thus his proposal is irrelevant and I solved the node economics problem in a different way which also deals with the incentives incompatibility issue). I will soon be posting a refutation to his face in his blog. In fact, that issue cuts directly to the generative essence of the insight of the consensus algorithm I designed for my Bitnet altcoin project.

Note I don’t pretend to be an expert on the Bitcoin code base and the subtleties thereof of the arcane distinctions between versions, BIPs, and fork offs. I’m on the big picture conceptual stuff and the intricacies of my designs.
