SkyChain: Saving Lives With Artificial Intelligence (AI) On The Blockchain

in #crypto6 years ago (edited)

Now there is a way to directly help save human lives and gain financially in the process...

Medical errors are the third largest cause of deaths after heart disease and cancer. AI provides a way to alleviate this problem.

SkyChain is an ICO (Initial Coin Offering) that will provide an open infrastructure based on blockchain principles and enable development, training, and use of medical neural networks. Skychain’s goal is to facilitate transactions between four groups of participants:

  • Owners of medical big data required for neural network training;
  • Developers of medical neural networks;
  • Doctors and patients interested in accurate diagnoses made by artificial intelligence;
  • Crypto miners, who can provide their computational resources.[1]

What is SkyChain?

Blockchain infrastructure aimed to host, train and use artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. The mission of Skychain is to save 10 million patients from premature death due to medical errors within 10 years. Medical errors are the third leading cause of death. For example, when doctors analyze X-ray lung images, they fail to diagnose early lung cancer in 69 percent of cases![2]

There are many hundreds of examples like that in healthcare. But artificial intelligence can dramatically reduce the number of such errors! Skychain intends to provide an infrastructure to radically increase the efficiency of healthcare AI development and training. It will make diagnostic AI systems far more accessible and affordable for the consumer by using blockchain technologies to facilitate safe transactions between the key parties.[2]

Johns Hopkins study suggests medical errors are third-leading cause of death in U.S.

Analyzing medical death rate data over an eight-year period, Johns Hopkins patient safety experts have calculated that more than 250,000 deaths per year are due to medical error in the U.S. Their figure, published May 3 in The BMJ, surpasses the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's third leading cause of death—respiratory disease, which kills close to 150,000 people per year.[3]

SkyChain is close to reaching it's goal of 10 million coin market capitalization and there are still discounts available if you act quickly. One can participate in this ICO for as little as $15...

is skychain IHE compatible? (medical data interoperability and exchange)
does it work like the siri project? utilizing distributed computation to power an AI?

I am not expert on this, but it it is my understanding that SkyChain will take IHE one step further by insuring that this information can be used while protecting the privacy of patients. The IHE data can be used to train AI to detect diseases without revealing the identity of patients who provided the data. Likewise, storehouses of proprietary medical knowledge can share their data with AI without compromising control of the data. Furthermore, the blockchain rewards them for sharing their data.

They should check the grapevine ecosystem...

I belive it could make a lot of sense if they put skychain into the grapevine ecosystem or connect it to it and concentrate on the AI task and let interoperability be done by grapevine...

I like your idea...

Combining the abilities of Grapevine and SkyChain would seem most advantageous. IMO interoperability should have been solved by the "Semantic Web" but no one wanted to do it. Grapevine sounds like they are on the right track and I look forward to learning more about them.

you got a direct connection to the SkyChain team? would like SkyChain and Grapevine to talk to each other..

Indeed they should! However, I have no connections. I am just a humble investor. I would think you can contact them through normal channels. They seem to have their shit together from my point of view. That's why I wrote about them. They are not your typical programmers who mastered "Hello World" and then leaped into blockchains.
