In this article I will be introducing an innovative project that seeks to leverage the Blockchain technology to provide solution to the challenges encountered by surfers globally and also provide innovations to the game.

Surfing is known as a water sport in which a surfer rides on the face of a moving wave across the surface of the water. Surfing is a very lucrative sport which realizes income worth billions of dollars from advertisement, sponsorships, competitions surf gears, clothing, etc globally.

Surfing is much more than just a sport, it is a culture and way of life, as it unites millions of people all over the world to a particular course. Despite the importance and value of this industry, there are still some limitations which presently plague the industry development and also restrict surfers from amazing surfing experience. Some of these challenges are discussed below

Lack of good weather and season with good waves: surfing is heavily dependent on nature to provide good weather and the ocean to come up with good waves for surfers to surf. But there are not many oceans in the world that have good waves and even the ones with good waves are limited to one or two seasons yearly.

High costs of training: like every other sports, surfing requires initial investment in different equipments and materials to begin. Surfers need to invest an average of €750 initially and also budget €270 monthly due to depreciation and size adjustment. These costs can prove expensive and unlike other sports (football, basketball, tennis, etc), surfers do not have access to adequate sponsorships and endorsement.

Overcrowded surfing beaches: Beaches with good waves usually get overcrowded by surfers, due to the limited no of beaches with good waves.

Long duration to reach a professional level

Decentralized and Dedicated Social Network

This is a decentralized surfing social network that is built by lipchain to connect different participants (surfers, sponsors, fans, advertisers) all over the world together and reward the users for the contents shared on the application. The social network is built in order to solve the problems of funding, lack of dedicated surfer’s channel, limited access to competitions and championships, high cost of training, pollution of seas and oceans.

Like every other social network, the Lipchain social network is created to connect different participants all over the globe together. But unlike the typical social network where the users are responsible for the growth of the network by sharing different contents (pictures, videos, personal data etc) on the network but get rewarded with nothing but spammed with different ads, the Lipchain social network will reward the users for the different forms of contents they share on the platform.

Lipwave pool center

The Lipwave pool center is an artificial wave generating pool made available by lipchain to the community in order to eradicate problems like poor weather conditions, overcrowded surfing spots affecting surfing sport. The availability of Lipwave pool center will also help athletes reach professional level quicker.

Oceans and seas cleaning

Lipchain is fully abreast of the alarming rate of pollution of the oceans and seas and therefore will take action to join in helping clean up the ocean. Lipchain will do this by contributing a certain percentage of the revenue from advertisement towards the purifying of the oceans and seas.
