WCX Tokens for free?

in #crypto7 years ago (edited)

So it seems...

WCX is supposed to be a new low-cost crypto-currency comming up. If you register now, you can get 50 WCX for free. They also have a referral system:

When a friend signs up using your unique link, you get 50 WCXT + 5% of the WCXT they buy, and they get an extra 15% bonus when they buy WCXT.

I only found this thanks to this post. Please give @pandorasbox some love and/or use his link.

In case you feel adventurous and want to use my referral link:

EDIT: I highly recommend NOT to pay actual money for those tokens. Use some throw-away email-address and a password you do not use anywhere else and only do it to get the free tokens. If they ever turn out to be worth something, good for you. If not, you did not lose anything. See also @tomshwom's comment. I apologize for not stating this more clearly in the original post.

Because it is always possible that such sites are part of some kind of scam, make sure to use a password you do not use anywhere else when registering.

Keep in mind that at the moment, there does not seem to be anything you can do with those tokens. Owners of WCX will have to wait until (if ever) this currency is traded on some exchange.

Keep this in mind..

WCX is running a presale with no MVP, no demo, no repo... nothing. They have a flashy website and that is it.

They have zero names associated with the project on their site. No facebooks, linkedins, personal twitters, nothing. There's nobody to hold personally accountable.

These are damning actions in the cryptocurrency community, and a big ICO should know this. That means that they either don't know what they're doing, they don't care, or they are intentionally being secretive and contrary to the core principles behind crypto. In any of these 3 possibilities, they absolutely should not be receiving funds.

The WHOIS info on the domain is also pretty shitty and doesn't lead back to anything directly. IMO it's got SCAM and pyramid scheme written all over it.

When was the last time a genuinely good ICO had a referral link and was giving away free tokens? Why is their site 98% hype and 2% hollow promises? Their claims honestly don't even sound practical in comparison to existing models.

Thanks a lot for bringing this to my attention! I must admit that I didn't really think about the possibility that someone might actually be tempted to buy WCX with real money because of my post. It's just so logical to me not to do this and to just register on the website with some throw-away address for the possibility of free tokens.

I will edit the post and clearly recommend not to pay money on this. Hopefully no one did so far.
