Is It Altcoin Season Yet?

For weeks, the altcoin market has collapsed, creating even greater pessimism. Following unprecedented interest and purchases in December and January, most coins lost more than 65% of their value. Then the sharp drop in prices was followed by weeks of almost no movement.

But the latest pump series also appeared suddenly, so another moment of price jumps is expected. At the prices of almost all the altcoins jumping overnight and Bitcoin's dominant position still dropped to 42%, there may be additional signs that interest in tokens and altcoins is not lost.

This time a new collection of coins can see exceptional price movements. Some of the strong contenders include Verge (XVG), Ontology (ONT), TRON (TRX), and older ICO projects that are almost ready to launch a product.

The day was quite rare when all the altrums were in green together, instead of having isolated recoveries. However, the volume of trade has not yet reached record levels at the end of last year, and it is not known whether current levels can sustain a large rise in prices.

Some believe that re-opening Bittrex for new registrations can lead to market activity. Bittrex reopened briefly but had to stop the process due to technical difficulties.

Over the past three months, Altcoin's biggest business has been focused on Binance, which has kept some coin prices. Asian trade also helped keep pace while Bitcoin stayed hot in Japan and USD trading fell to lower levels.

But American investors are interested in alternatives such as Cardano (ADA), Stellar (XLM) and others, and additional buying opportunities can help raise prices. Some believe that the US tax season ending after April 17 is a good date for returning new buyers.
