I've been buying steem fairly aggressively this past week and this is the first time I've bought it since November of last year. Managed 3 buys under $2 and a couple of $2.
It's definitely my #1 holding and the many ways that held steem power can grow all by itself if handled properly (delegation, curation, etc) is one of the main reasons why.
On the ETF front....I can't wait til they come out with leveraged crypto ETN's. You know it's gonna happen. THey've got em for oil, gold miners, nat gas, index funds, etc already. Those are gonna be a daytraders dream...but I'm not a daytrader so the only thing I'd do with a leveraged instrument tracking crypto is short an inverse pair of them and gain from the two types of price decay that those things suffer from. The 3x leveraged pair UGAZ & DGAZ that tracks natgas contract futures decayed (as a pair and if you're short both sides in equal dollar amounts to start with) as much as 30% in several months a couple of years ago. It's just hard to find both available to borrow, I think fidelity has a lot of those leveraged ETN pairs though. Been meaning to put about 5k into a Fidelity account and try the double short tactic on a leveraged ETN that tracks a volatile asset. I know a guy who does that and he's made quite a bit of money. You gotta know what you're doing though and understand the mechanisms driving the decay though (contango / backwardation from contract rollover and geometric price decay).
All I know is that steem will be the next big thing around. Reason being is that it's user friendly and easy to understand. Anyway great post though! Thanks for sharing.
It is. I think however some people have some unrealistic goals for the price of Steem..but other than that I think Steemit (and/or competing platforms - steemit is way ahead though) will not only survive, but thrive in the future.
Between Facebook & Google/Youtube they are sure are doing the best to destroy their 'brands'. One gets the feeling the facebook story has more legs to run on. I very much doubt it was just a one-off.
