It's amazing how many people haven't picked up on the pattern of print news > assess reaction > (re)evaluate strategy > print retraction or refinement > rinse > repeat.

So in completely not surprising news, Coinbase retracts its recent claims about listing securities. Whether it's securities or their supposed "short list" or even Ripple, please don't trade off their public announcements or rumors. For example, do NOT listen to me when I say Digibyte (DGB) is virtually the only coin they could safely list right now. My theory is complete conjecture and probably wrong. DYOR!

Heya, so this is my first post in here although I have been in here since February I think... Had a search through and couldn't find anything about IOV which surprised me...

It is currently in pre-ICO but they got runners up at the Tech Crunch Startup Battlefield Europe so they must be doing something right...

Basically they are creating the DNS of blockchains so instead of having our currently loved alphanumerical addresses we would have something like jonsmith.iov.value (or something like that)

Not only that but they are looking at a multiplatform wallet with atomic swaps so we will only need out IOV address to send any crypto to it and then we can swap it in the wallet...

I really see this as a pretty big step towards mass adoption as it makes things a hell of a lot easier for the lay person to get on board with.

If IOV don't end up doing it, the cat is out of th ebag now so someone will end up doing it! Such a simple idea but it's all about the implementation. I'm going to be keeping an eye on them very closely and you can all find out more at www.iov.one if you want to get their telegram groups etc...

I think I have formatted this correctly for the post to be allowed. Feel free to slap me if I've made mistakes though, I can take it as I am now into toddlers training pants rather than the nappies (diapers) I was wearing previously. I'd love to hear the families thoughts on this though…

..Market Cap: $296.93 Billion (Keep an eye on this movement, looks like its LEVELING OUT?)
..Bitcoin: $7,438.00 ( up 17% in one week)
..Ethereum: $491.00( up 11% in on week), remember when ETH was hanging at $1000.00...Could be a good play on this one at this price?
..Litecoin: $90.00 (up 16% in one week) might be a good play at $90.00? this is gaining percentage right behind Bitcoin...Good value...
..EOS: $8.92 (up 24% in one week)...a couple months ago when we had that run up, this shot nearing $20.00...good play on this..Max supply 900 mil, cir 896mil, consider adding this to your portfolio if you haven't yet...
..XLM: $0.29 (up 53% in one week) wow....grab it, what not, I have a bunch....Long term on this...get it....
..ADA: $0.19 (up 45% in one week) same thing as XLM get it.
..XRP: $0.51 (up 13% in one week)..you either like it for you don't...tell you the truth, I use XRP as one of the gages of the market.....
So here are a few I hold them all, except Bitcoin...;(...On these other Coins/Tokens, you can see your gains can surpass Bitcoin gains...Most of these especially the TOP 10 will MOVE in cadence with Bitcoin....

As the market begins to indicate a shift, it’s time to look at the alts with potential for the biggest boom if we do indeed enter a bull market.

Platform coins had a big run in the last bull market, but I feel like with the current financial climate currency coins could be having a Renaissance.

I’ve been checking out those in the 100-200 ranks on CMC. Leaning towards the lesser known, or lesser traded ones with good road maps for 2018.

Groestlcoin (GRS) is a standout for me. Low fees, huge scalability and devs that are producing high quality tech regularly. Trezor and Ledger support is confirmed and going live very soon, already listed on great exchanges with a big push for more Asian exchanges underway. Lightning network will be implemented this year, along with plenty of other things to be excited about. GRSpay details being revealed to allow easier payment processing and integration of GRS. Finally the yearly chart looks healthy and poised for another run up soon.

With $30m market cap and down significantly from previous ATH’s I feel like this is a coin that has serious potential for a good burst in the next bull market.

For most people in the blockchain industry, 2017 was the year Bitcoin “bubbled,” going from $1,000 January 1st to over $20,000 on December 17th, then falling out of the sky to reach $12,755 on the last day of the year. In early 2018, Bitcoin continued its rapid decline up to the expiration date of the first round of Bitcoin futures.

For those following the blockchain industry more closely, 2017 was also the year of the ICO bubble, where blockchain startups raised over $5.6 billion. Lots of references were made to the dotcom bubble, where investors vastly overvalued internet companies at IPO.

Scam or legit coin?

My opinion (From being an actual investor and being active on the official BCN Reddit) is that it’s a scam and something really shady is going on.

The official BCN Reddit censors anything remotely negative anyone has to say about it. It’s almost cult like what I’ve personally experienced while bringing to light well known issues such as the pre mine, and of course the Binance Incident just to name a few things. Instead of defending their views with facts and intellectual discussion, users over at the Bytecoin Official Reddit like to make fun of my user name (idk why cause my name is Marc Knight lol) then proceed to take it a step further and find my Twitter (that I rarely use) and start to say things like I have sex with my dog lol. I’m not making this up, I’d post the screenshots, but no witch hunting. I’m sure you can go over to the subreddit and check for yourself. I’m thick skinned so things like that don’t really get to me, in fact it only adds fuel to my fire.

Hardware solutions to solve transaction speed

I have recently tackled the bottleneck speed issue for blockchains which plagues the whole environment and hinders a commercial interest, alongside ease of use ( wallets/ security keys).

However I genuinely believe that transaction speed is the next step to adoption. Many projects are actually working on it, EOS adding more centralization, Ethereum working on sharding and plasma. Lots of new projects also are trying to compete for TX speed.

However, from an engineering point of view, hardware is always the best option for optimization.
